I love the other series of Transformers. Maybe not as much as G1 but I have enjoyed it all. But for some reason the detailed attention or something about Energon and other series that I couldn't get in drawing. Recently I read 's journal about fun with toys and the pairings we make with them in fun. One of my faves in my collection is Energon Checkpoint and Prowl. I finally figured out how to overcome whatever it was and draw these Energon characters. I figure maybe make it in my own style would help.In my imaginings of Checkpoint and Prowl, it kinda flooded over into G1 as a partner for Prowl. A repainted Rodimus Prime in his colors for his G1 self has been one of my thoughts on him. I see Checkpoint as fun loving and not as serious as his police mate, Prowl. I also see them as police enforcement which isn't much of a stretch considering they were release as SWAT. I so want to do more of these two right down to eating energon donuts together.

This Checkpoint looks rather like Prowl... It's the chevron.

Kath, you have a real nice flair for drawing Energon characters! Have you considered drawing Downshift? If the mood ever strikes you to I have pics of him in my Anaglyphic 3-D folder you could check for reference.

I didn't think I had a flair with them. Figure I'll break this and get into somewhat drawing them. I actually drew them from looking at the toys. Is Energon Downshift, the one that looks like Wheeljack? I'll to grab his toy out.

Very cool, lol - I liked most of the TF series...I just wish Energon had been better. The CG animation kinda urked me, though for the time it originated, its pretty good.

I wish Energon was better too. I watched most of it. I can't say what but it needs a dash of something. A little comedy injected?

Well, there were so many filler episodes...and the dubbing was bad. But...I don't know, I just hated the CG. The whole show needed something more to it...though I think it would've been better with the animation Armada had. Remember the scene where Megatron is trying force Inferno to be a Decepticon? The animation kept flashing from CG to the Armada style and I personally loved how the Armada style looked...

I remember the episode of Megatron forcing Inferno to become a Decepticon but considering how I literally went on a marathon and burned my brain, it is one of those episodes I'll have to rewatch now. . . .

Yeah, if you rewatch it, you'll see the CG flickers to traditional animation and then back a couple times...the traditional makes that scene WAY cooler though. XD And OUCH, you're brave - I'd never go on a marathon like that that involved Energon.

I didn't know if you may understand by then I couldn't notice much in animation by that marathon. I enjoyed the first few eps of it but I think its one to be taken in doses. Sadly its even harder to get into Cybertron. I tried to skip ahead but I miss the episode where Override comes in. . .

Eh, thats probably true. I think Energon is better in small, daily - maybe even weekly - doses to be honest. Its just...eh, missing a lot. Though I loved Cybertron, its what got me into Transformers. ^^

I'm having a hard time getting into it. MOstly the kids ruin it for me. Advance beings that travel planet to planet and they have these kids telling them how to do something better. I really want to get into it. I love the concept and the toys.

Lori could be shot and no one would miss her. Other than that I could do without the kids. I got the series on DVD and I hope I can enjoy it.

Seriously. Lol, but without the kids, there are a couple things they couldn't have done...and besides, Coby gets ALOT cooler later on. X3
