When going into full battle mode with the resistance, it is never a wise thing to surprise Taylor from behind. Not only did she learn excellent combat techniques, she also learned how to manipulate and better control her tail for combat situations. No longer afraid of what her tail could do or consume, provided it was for a good cause, she would dive eagerly into a mess of goons and tear them up with her staff or other weapons she brought along. Sometimes swiftly devouring one unfortunate lackey whole, using the sudden boost in energy and strength like a shot of steroids to the heart to lay waste to the rest of those who would oppose her. I mean, you shouldn't sneak up on random people anyway, but remind me to not be near her in a crowd. That would end with my head being bitten off.
BTW, how the heck does that work?! Does her tail have a digestive system? Does she talk from it? Does she talk and eat from it, and her face mouth is useless? So many questions!!!

To answer each in turn:
how the heck does that work?! Basically, it can swallow smaller things whole and turn it's jelly inside to corrosive acid and quickly dissolve things for immediate nutrients to Taylor like a shot of Steroids to the heart, giving her boosted endurance, stamina and reflexes for a short time.
Does her tail have a digestive system? Sorta, it funnels anything it dissolves into the primary body, aka Taylor, as energy and nutrients.
Does she talk from it? No.
Does she talk and eat from it, and her face mouth is useless? She doesn't talk from it, it has no voice. She is mostly vegetarian and doesn't like eating meat. She tried once to force her tail to eat nothing but non-meat products but it caused her to get sick and exhausted because of neglecting the primary means of sustenance for her tail, which in turn, affected her entire body. So she must strike a balance between what she allows her tail to eat to maintain full body healthiness.Β

It does not have a skull and brain, only enough bone to complement the teeth/jaws, with the back edges of the jaw connecting up with the primary spinal column that extends the length of her tail from tip to base. Now, it does have a separate conscience, but can be completely controlled with concentration and/or effort by Taylor if the need arises.

It shares the same nervous system as Taylor and so what it feels, she feels. Sometimes, however, because it does have a mind of its own and being used to it wandering around (as much as it can, attached to her butt and all), Taylor doesn't give it too much mind unless she senses something is amiss, which may come a bit too late if she's really distracted.

That brings up another question: if they share the same nervous system and it has a conscience, then does that mean she has a split personality, one of which controls the tail, or is their a parisite controlling it?

I wouldn't exactly call it a split personality. She can control the tail, but the tail can't control her outside of normal physics - for example, if it lunges after something and she isn't expecting it, obviously, since her butt is attached to said tail, she's along for the ride for a brief moment until she can get it under control. Doesn't happen often, but it does happen.

It's a balancing thing. If Taylor wanted to, she could take full control over it 24/7, but she treats it more like a personal friend and kinda lets it have some independence. They look out for each other, as they should, since they are connected to the same body!
