Lots of people have been asking me the same question : how do I draw my characters. So, after trying to explain that with words I figured it'd be easier to simply draw an example.So here it is and I hope it helps. ^^
This one's for a female character, in this case, a vixen.

Well the base is pretty much the same, just have to replace the paws and the face and remove the tail.

It's really that you overdefined the muscle detail with lines, instead of shading

Well it's true I tend to add lines where simple shading would be enough, but to be honest, I prefer it that way. It's not the first time someone tells me that though, so I do understand your point. ^^
