Code name: Y2.1K (a reference to the fact that his checks have "20__" on them, making them not Y2.1K compliant)
Age: mid-20s
Distinction: Dragon-iguana/chameleon/gecko
Faction: Tempest Entertainment
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Occupation: IT technician
Role: Ranged Fighter
Likes: Being a workaholic, video games, revenge, papayas, Syndicate, the disability act, periods of people not speaking verbally
Dislikes: The fact that one is required to verbally communicate at all times, the fact that said verbal communication can be misinterpreted, the fact that nonverbal actions can also be misinterpreted, prejudice, uncomfortable clothing, interpersonal relationships, verbal conflict
Motivated by: Fear, anger, logic
Demotivated by: Any situation where his presence/participation would not significantly affect the outcome
Positive interactions: Angelic Kitten, Saturn Feline, Agent Tracer (sometimes), Syndicate, Despair Templar
Negative interactions: Magiseeker, Agent Tracer (sometimes), Pale Horsewoman, Project Cocytus
Personality:
Due to his ASD, almost everything he says sounds offensive since he talks bluntly, and because other people criticized his unconfident speech when he tried to "script" his speech, he decided not to communicate at all, both verbally and written, whenever it was an option for him to remain silent. Occasionally he will state that if communicating with language is his only way to explain himself he will refuse to communicate (usually verbally) since it could be interpreted against him. Because he takes information and family advice said to him literally, he thinks about them as very rigid concepts that he cannot break instead of just suggestions. As he has been criticized for bringing up the fact that he has this issue in the first place, he has become stuck with the paradox that he has coped with it by thinking of it as an advantage due to the savant skills he has, yet he is criticized for discussing it so he cannot talk about it.
He distrusts almost everyone, including many of his co-workers, believing they will not make good on their promises, and due to having read too much about crime, he stays away from pedestrians, thinking they will steal his wallet. Although he doesn't want to get involved in conflict, he might dislike it if people engage in verbal conflict (even if he is not involved, since he doesn't like hearing it) and might kill (or incapacitate) both parties just so he doesn't have to hear verbal conflict. He is also obsessed with maintaining his job since he was told that going to college was for getting jobs, and presumably commits violent acts to keep it.
Although his anxiety can make him frozen in fear at times, he heard the advice that he should "not let it control him", which he interpreted as that she should not permit the source of his fear to exist. If there is an immediate danger or object of his fear near him, he will attack it with all of his might and strength until it is either dead or he defeats it to stop that fear from coming back. This sometimes leads to more problems if he is made aware of some kind of abstract concept that he cannot solve by destroying it, so he numbs himself from it by playing the company's video games (for free). However, he has responded to various issues with violence with various degrees of success, and has used technological means of evidence-gathering in an offensive method to get enforcers dismissed.
In combat, the more he worries about something, the more skilled he becomes at fighting out of desperation. Because of the degree that he overreacts, a simple issue (which may even involve who got to a parking space first) may even escalate to the point that it is like he is fighting like the world depends on it. However, if it is not put in context that it is important--as in that he would lose his job--then he may treat it as insignificant and fight below his optimal levels or act as if it were trivial and not care. He overreacts to observations and complaints from family and friends and will commit violent acts to "remove the problem", which he believes will calm them down due to the elimination of the problem.
Speaking in certain tones of voice will him may make him perceive anyone speaking in such a manner as a threat, and he may interfere with them or perceive them as a threat if he believes they are not taking him seriously.
Combat tactics:
He is strong enough to climb and run on walls and ceilings with his legs or arms as opposed to using all four limbs, so he simply stands on ceilings and walls and shoots at enemies with guns or his laser communications device. He has no objection to engaging in melee combat either, but when doing so, will enter a wall-crawling stance to avoid being a larger target. Whether ranged or melee attacks, he will always try to go for the throat or jaw to make his enemies unable to speak, or possibly shoot their major arteries out so all they can do is scream as they bleed.
Other notable traits:
Because Nightmare is required to tend to his "disability" and Syndicate believes that he is an excellent example of why people should live alone with no interference, the two of them may back him up if he is threatened.
Known combat styles:
- Lizard martial arts
- Velociraptor fighting style
- "Fast And Furious"
Known languages:
- English
- Assembly language
- Draconic (medium fluency)
- Chinese
- Japanese (can understand verbally but cannot read or speak)
Arsenal:
Laser Communications Device: A device that uses a hologram laser to simulate an input plug on a device and/or wifi. Since the range of Arrow's technopathy is limited, he uses this device to plug himself in from a distance using line of sight, and he can even plug himself in simply by using reflective surfaces. He normally uses it as a USB due to the fact that it directly bypasses most security protocols when one plugs a device into the computer. Due to the wavelength of the device, when the laser beam is interrupted by anything living, it numbs that part of their nerves. He occasionally uses this to his advantage by firing it at people to disorient them or to prevent them from temporarily using their limbs.
Sonic Nullifer Portable Speaker: Although Arrow could not replicate Syndicate's Tower of Babel technology, he went for the next best thing and took the design for Silence's sonic nullifer and had the holographic factory build a ton of them. By discreetly planting these around an adversary, he can remotely turn them on and off so he doesn't have to hear them, allowing him to calm down since he doesn't have to hear them talk and blocking sound-based powers. Occasionally he might use them to selectively hear and not hear what people are saying just to make them say funny things.
Powers:
Technopathy: His unique inherent power is that he can control machines with his mind, with the power emanating from his markings. Since his thoughts race through his head, firewalls and security protocols are of little to no trouble to him, allowing him to bypass them as if they were nothing more than annoying thoughts. However, when attempting to take control of or interact with a machine that uses language as opposed to code, he becomes nervous since he has to interact with them, but gets around it by overloading them with useless information to stun them into silence so he can control them. Occasionally, when he tries to control machines, his markings will broadcast random code into the air, which he did to slightly make it more obvious to others that he was trying to hack machines (although he has no actual requirement to). The nature of his powers also allows him to plug devices onto himself and use them as if they were hooked onto a computer. The number of devices he can hook up to himself is limited to the number he can plug into himself at the same time, whether he plugs them into his mouth, nose, ears, or other locations.
Chameleon color changing: He inherited the genes of a chameleon. This is unique to himself and one of his sisters. He can change his skin color to that of the surrounding environment, allowing him to infiltrate locations easily. Since it doesn't change the color of his clothes, he will occasionally take one of Angel's hologram generators to cover any clothes he doesn't want to remove, but he doesn't mind taking his clothes off.
Weaknesses:
Anxiety: Because he worries a lot, one issue may lead to him becoming worried about something, which leads to him worrying about another thing, and so on, until he is frozen in anxiety to be unable to do anything. He will become violent if he is aware that the things that are causing him anxiety are physical in nature and try to "end" them, preferrably by killing them.
Lack of social knowledge: The main issue with his ASD is that most of what he does and says is unwittingly rude and he is not aware of it. Since he does not comprehend and has been unable to learn the behavior of "normals", he will usually not say anything if it is an option, and avoid interacting with people both verbally and somatically whenever possible (he might tell them to go away if they are persistent). If he unwittingly offends a person and they visually display it, he will request Syndicate to deal with it.
