I love the way it's drawn, his blue shining eyes standing out with the red and darkness. However, the eyes/anatomy looks rather wolf/canine.

well, cats are close to canines and such, so there can be resemblances there, I even looked up the cat anatomy to try and get it -w-". But I guess I'm still in my whole drawing canines kinda mood with this xD

And yeah, I agree with that mainly, only some dark art goes a bit too far and is just not cool anymore. Yet most finds the good balance.

or when too many people start making only dark art and that's all that's seen from people. then it gets tiresome no matter how good the art is. it's good to either specialize in one type of art and broadcast it so ppl know what to expect or be able to vary what you put out. in my opinion anyway

Yeah, that is reasonable. In my opinion really though, it gives a greater advantage to try and vary what they draw, so you can try all different forms of art and get a feel for them.
