I don't know, seeing as Marci comes from more humble beginnings than Hannibal... I think she might actually enjoy cooking. Not that she needs to do it-- like you said, they could easily have robo-apes do it or just go out for dinner. But, it seems in-character for her to like doing stuff just because it makes her happy.
