Description I could type for hours on why I would vote for this party... (too bad I'm 16!)... anywho! Won't get into that. Research and do your homework. John McCain and Palin rock, and they're going to rock this country. Sure hope the media gives them a chance.

Now, about the Obama/Biden pic... I was really considering doing an Obama cartoon, but it may be a more humorous take on his "change" modo... ... keep in mind, that I don't intend on bashing him in a serious manner. I actually don't like discussing polotics with people I hardly know...

uh, yah ok. :/

you guys are everywhere apparently. i think just the opposite. Biden is the one that "looks like a lizard". McCain is an honorable man... a true hero in my view. And I think he's got the right agenda on everything. He's not socialistic, unlike his opponent.

But no matter! I don't want to argue with a dear friend... thanks for the comment btw.

I will admit that Biden vaguely resembles a lizard, and in my opinion Mccain looks like some sort of flesh-eating rodent. I appreciate that he has done some very noble things, and i respect him, but I don't think we need another war monger president. I disagree with you when you say Obama is socialistic, although if you look at socialistic country like Switzerland, you may not think socialism is so terrible. I'm trying to be calm (I'm very passionate on this issue) but I honestly hate Sarah Palin! The only nice thing I have to say about her is her hair looks nice. I can't understand that even with a 17 year old pregnant daughter she thinks that abortion should be illegal even when the health of the mother is at stake. nice drawing though.

DarthxErik In reply to demon-doodler [2008-10-20 00:10:11 +0000 UTC]

thanks for the comment.

i was only joking when i said that biden resembled a lizard, but, he. okay then.

Well, if you look at what our country has been; if you look at the constitution; if you look at why our country has been a great country so far... it's because of "little government". Obama wants to socialize everything, like in europe. It might be OK for europe, but I personally don't think that should be the road for america.

But even if I were ok with his foreign polocies, his economic polocies (which will make our economy spiral down further into another depression... you may not believe me... but, it's true) etc etc... I CANNOT and WILL NOT support him because of his stand on moral issues that are incredibly important to me. health of the mother? PLEASE. There is no evidence what-so-ever that a mother's health is at stake if abortion were to be abolished. I don't think a healthy society should stand for people killing babies in such cruel ways like injecting a scissor into their scull and collapsing their brains (as the baby is crying!). It's cruel and down-right inhumane. Forget the whales... humans are dying, and we seem to be indifferent.

So i'm sorry if I myself got very spirited about this matter, but now you understand why I can't vote for Obama.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

demon-doodler In reply to DarthxErik [2008-10-20 02:51:33 +0000 UTC]

whether or not America is a great country depends on who you ask. for example, the mother of an Iraqi child who was killed by an American bomb might disagree with you. I'm pretty happy with the constitution (especially the first amendment)and I'm not saying that socialism is what we need, but it wouldn't be the end of the world.

I don't really know what to say to the economic issue, find me some proof that Obama will make our economy worse and then I'll be happy to give my opinion. There is evidence that the health of the mother can in certain circumstances be threatened by child birth, and I'm not saying abortion is totally moral (I'm strongly against partial birth abortion) but I do think we can't put an undeveloped fetus before a woman with a family and friends and emotions and, well, a life. Injecting scissors into anyone's scull is horribly cruel, but as long as we're talking inhumane, it seems totally hypocritical to be so strongly against abortion if you eat meat (I don't know if you do, but the majority of Americans do)

And I know its a bit off topic, but I'm not going to forget the whales. Sorry, but I still don't get why you can't vote for obama.

DarthxErik In reply to demon-doodler [2008-10-20 19:17:11 +0000 UTC]

Well, it's not like our soldiers are *trying* to kill innocent civilians. We're trying to build their country up again, so that they can stand on their own in the world. But war is war. Sometimes there are innocent lives lost, whether by accident or brave sacrifice. Geez, I hate war. But at least America fights for the innocent. We're not trying to take over countries or anything...

Well, for one Obama wants to raise taxes for small businesses that make more than $250,000 a year. I assume you've heard of his plan. But if bussinesses can't pay those taxes, they're just going to pass them onto the average consumer. You can't avoid it. *OR*... those businesses will go out of business and have to close. My Dad is a doctor, and even though he makes about 300,000 dollars a year, most of that goes back out through the bills. We have to pay our employees and expenses. If Obama plans on taxing us becuase we're "rich" and wants to spread the wealth... businesses like ours could close. More and more businesses close for the sake of the poor families too lazy to work hard, those wanting food stamps and wanting a way out of dept the UNFAIR way. Chaos could ensue in the market. And that's only one example. Obama's on the way left of issues such as these, embracing ideas that sound great at first, but prolong our economic problems in the long run. He wants your vote by promising things that every person desires. More money for those struggling financially. It may work for winning an election, but those aren't smart ways to fix the problem this countrie's facing. I just appreciate John McCain's approach much more.

Child birth, sure. But I don't believe that the health of the mother would be threatened if the baby is still alive and well in the mother's stomach. Show me the evidence for that.

I'm one of those that believes that the baby deserves to live just as much as you and me the moment it is conceived. So please don't use the term "fetus" with me. It's a human life. And by the way, the girl/woman chose to take that risk when she decided to have sex with her guy. That's when she should've decided whether or not she's willing to take the risk of having a baby. I don't think the baby should pay for the shame of the mother. Not trying to sound harsh here, cause I definitely feel sorry for girls that are pregnant at an early age. It's not something they should go through, and that's part of the reason why I think sex was designed to be for marriage. It's something one should share with the person that is the love of their life... not something one should experiment with.

I would hardly call valuing the life of a baby over that of a cow hypocritical. I love cows, don't get me wrong (that's just a silly example. And to answer your question, I do in fact eat meat. The reason my conscience is clear on that matter is a little complicated, so i won't get into that), but I believe that a human life is to be treasured. Imagine if you lost your dog. That's tough; devastating for some. But imagine if you lost your daughter or son? That's something we don't even want to think about. That's the difference. I don't even think the two should be compared in this way.

I didn't mean you should drop defending whales if that's where you stand, so sorry about that. I do care for whales, they are beautiful creatures etc... I just think it's nuts that so many care about saving endangered species when more than 6 million babies are aborted every year. Most of those abortions aren't made by people in a very difficult situation (such as girls that got raped). Most of them are suburban girls that should've known better.

I really hate arguing like this! Geez... I'm sorry if I sound harsh... but I really felt like i had to explain myself. I may not have the most eloquent language, but at least I can defend my thoughts. Maybye you now know where I stand.

sorry to jump into a debate you're having with someone else, but do you know what percentage of small businesses actually make more than $250,000 a year? A very very small amount. I believe it is somewhere between 2-5 but feel free to correct me if you read otherwise.

How do you feel about abortion in the case of rape?

Oh well, you can't vote, and I already did, so this is sort of pointless. :/

sorry for butting in but i have to reply to your question about rape.

Abortion of all kinds is wrong (thats what i think)
If a girl is raped, its not the baby's fault. The baby is not the rapist. Why not just try to find the rapist and put him in jail?? (which i think rapists, Molesters, etc deserve the death penalty) I mean, If I were in that situation i would have the baby and let a couple adopt it on the day its born so there is no emotional attatchment.

thewizardess In reply to HoneyAppleNinja [2008-11-02 20:37:44 +0000 UTC]

I wouldn't want to even carry the child, period, I wouldn't want to have to go through 9 months of pregnancy for the act of someone else, and many women feel the same as I do.

DarthxErik In reply to thewizardess [2008-10-21 22:14:17 +0000 UTC]

it matters when small business and people making more than 250,000 dollars a year are already paying 40% of the countrie's taxes.

Just read above. I think it's a very small minority of people who are in that position, so i don't think that abortion is acceptable for everyone because of that small exception. I personaly think that sort of a situation can be redeemed; abortion is never the right answer.

he he.

thewizardess In reply to DarthxErik [2008-10-21 23:46:54 +0000 UTC]

Perhaps raising the taxes on the wealthy is not the best solution in the world (then again, what is?) but if we want to help the middle, working class by cutting their taxes, someone's taxes are going to have to go up, and the wealthy can afford it. If we don't lower the taxes of the middle class, whoever gets elected needs to find some way to relieve them, somehow. The middle class are the ones who will be pumping the money back into the economy by purchasing food and gas and other goods. They are what drives the economy and I think the primary focus of the next president should be to help them, not the wealthy.

1% seems small, but that is still 13,000 women a year who get raped. Maybe you personally believe that the situation can be redeemed, but for the most part, women don't want to carry a child to term who was a product of rape. I certainly wouldn't.

Abortion is never the right answer? then what is? Raising the child? Again, most women who are victims of rape, or who cannot financially support the child, or otherwise have no love to offer an unwanted child, do not want to take care of their baby. Would you rather have all of these children go into foster care programs? That is not always the right answer.

But the view of abortion depends on your view of when human life begins, your definition of what a human is. I personally do not think a fetus has the rights of a developed infant, and therefore is still a part of the woman's body. So it is up to the woman to decide what happens to it.

DarthxErik In reply to thewizardess [2008-10-23 23:50:51 +0000 UTC]

Again... this label... "wealthy". I don't think free americans should be categorized like that based on the notion that if someone makes 250,000 dollars or more a year, they are rich. Really, what makes an economy thrive are jobs. Not more money in the pockets of people that don't know how to spend their money. (look at what got us into this terrible mess in the first place!)

Yah. I know. I know. I personally would be devastated in that position. But I think if people make a bigger effort to prevent rape, or if girls were a bit more cautious when possible, a bunch of those rapes can be avoided. Again; I just don't believe a baby should be punished for the evils of other people. Besides, raising a baby/or even giving up the baby for adoption isn't like a death sentence. I think it's always the right choice. Sorry if you don't think so.

It really comes down to how we view the life of a human, and whether we know what the Bible sais (That is the basis of all my values). I believe that God created man in his own image (a concept that is foreign to most). If we have different world-views in general, it's hard to agree on something like this. So I guess we can agree that we disagree.

Have a good day btw. I love your avieee. Walle was such a sweet movie.

thewizardess In reply to DarthxErik [2008-10-24 00:08:04 +0000 UTC]

I still think that in order to keep things moving, we have to raise taxes on someone, and the fact is that people making more than 250,000 a year can afford it while the middle class cannot. Tax cuts across the board won't work, and raising taxes across the board will hurt working middle class families.

I am an atheist so religious views have no importance to me, so we are going to have to agree to disagree.

And thank you! It's one of my favorite movies.
