An alternate, kaiju-inspired form of their OC, Fever. I tried to make a monster-like creature while still keeping many of their features in tact. I based the name and size off of the king of the kaijus himself, Godzilla (the anime adaptation, specifically - despite negative reviews, I quite liked that Godzilla's design).

And below... a little free write thingy I came up with, from the perspective of scientists discovering the dormant beast!

October 21st, 20XX - Log 27

The small hill past the twin-peaks in the exclusion zone moves, I am sure of it. My team and I donned our suits this morning and set out to investigate the pattern of movement in hopes of measuring noticeable changes. Our experiments were successful - the data revealed that the mountain moves upwards every six hours by three sevenths of an inch. It's barely a movement, yet... it's noticeable, all the same. Some have suggested there is a magma pool below the mountain, or trapped gas, but neither explanations explain this. The measured, exact nature of the movement isn't something we've seen before. I will look further into this phenomenon.

October 27th, 20XX - Log 34

We've tried several underground probes to determine the composition of the mountain's soil and rock. The results are odd. The stone and soil is much newer than any surrounding landforms. It's ... too new, even. Recent. The mountain seems to have sprung up during the last thirty or forty years, beginning around the time the exclusion zone was put into place. While this area is rarely visited and rural, I find it hard to believe no one noticed a mountain rising from the ground. I'll have to speak with the locals living on the edge of the zone.

November 13th, 20XX - Log 49

We've found it. The source of the movement. It's a creature, so large and so massive that we didn't even realize the ground we were standing on was its back. It was big, bigger than anything that had ever walked this planet, and it was living there, feeding off radiation and growing larger. We managed to get probes down to the beast, finding something incredible. It has melded the DNA of the plants it hosts onto its own DNA, grafting the roots into its own skin. It can photosynthesize, and even produces oxygen. But its original DNA is, however, not of our world. It's totally foreign, with elasticity beyond anyone's imagination - one could completely change their form with this DNA structure, I'm be willing to bet.

November 17th, 20XX - Log 55

I think the creature below the hill is beginning to wake. It rises further and quicker daily - something is happening. My team and I made sure to clear the boundaries of where the creature would rise if awoken... and then some. If my calculations are right, this beast won't even see us like ants... it'll see us like we're specks of dust. The thing, whatever it is, is so big, it just might not see us at all. We have to be careful - there's lives at stake, and if I'm reading this right... the DNA this creature has? It could change the world, altering our very existence.

November 19th, 20XX - Log 62

It's risen. The sight was equal parts magnificent and equal parts terrifying. The ground shook fiercely, and then a great, billowing breath came from holes in the creature's back as it slowly, so very slowly, stood. The earth fell down in sheets as it rose from the cavern in which it had laid for however long it had been living. Descending dust and debris made my lungs and throat burn, yet I could not bring myself to do anything but smile as the creature, bird-like and sheathed in dirt and plants alike, rose from the ground.

November 25th, 20XX - Log 69

Communication has been difficult with the sheer size of the beast. It hasn't done much, besides nap, but I have high hopes that it will resume movement, soon. Analysis of the creature's eye movements and brain activity lead me to believe it can see us, and is in possession of human intelligence. Once we figure out how to communicate, perhaps we can learn things from this creature.

November 27th, 20XX - Log 73

I am afraid. Not of the beast - it's fairly non-active, and shows no destructive tendencies - but of those in my company leaking information regarding this creature's whereabouts and its extraordinary traits. What would the general public do with this information? Or, worse, what would our competitors do? I fear that if this information leaks, we could have insurmountable issues. Our company is small, and research-focused. Profit is a plus for us, not a goal. Others, I fear, will not think the same way. This creature, whatever it is, deserves respect, not being hunted down for money or other gain.

December 5th, 20XX - Log 80

We've done it. We've gotten in communication with the beast. It's intelligent, as hypothesized, and from another planet... or, at least, somewhere else in space. It doesn't remember where it came from. Perhaps it's keeping that information secret. If it is, I can't say I blame it. Humans are greedy, and distrust is understandable. I would like to figure out its name, if possible. It's not fond of long conversations, but doesn't mind us questioning sparingly. I do hope we will make more progress in future conversations - I have found myself quite enjoying speaking to this beast.

December 10th, 20XX - Log 85

It's name is Fever. And... "it" is not an it, but a "he!" How interesting... I spoke to Fever earlier today, and I believe I heard him laugh. The rumble nearly knocked me off my feet, but it could not knock the smile from my face. He truly is an interesting creature. He remembers being injured and crashing onto earth before falling into a deep slumber. Since then, he's awoken briefly a few times, being larger and larger each time. He expressed interest in his DNA melding with the plants upon him - he had no idea of the accelerated growth the plants and mountains upon him were displaying.

December 13th, 20XX - Log 89

As I feared, information has been leaked. One of my lower-ranking team members has been in contact with an agent from a rival company. I fear for the safety of Fever, and will contact this team member later. I do hope he is forthcoming in reporting the information he leaked. I don't want to use more drastic measures of persuasion, if possible. I am prepared to get the authorities involved if I absolutely must... away from the zone, of course.

December 14th, 20XX - Log 91

The team member I spoke to has been found, dead, at the bottom of a cliff. He seems to have fallen off last night. A pity, really, to have him dead.

December 20th, 20XX - Log 103

We intercepted agents from one of our rival companies this morning. They were attempting to reach the beast's sleeping area. I stalled them as backup arrived. I expected the backup would be my team members, yet... it was not. A great rumble went through the forest, and when I looked up, I was stunned. Fever himself had made an appearance, looming over the rivals of my company and opening his horrendous jaws. A ball of heated light and plasma appeared in his mouth, and moments later, he fired a ray of some unknown material from his mouth. The scientists were reduced to dust, and I, in such proximity to the ray, felt the sting of a thousand needles pierce me, grew dizzy, and passed out.

December 23th, 20XX - Log 104

I awoke a few days later in a bed of moss. I blinked, weary, and opened my eyes. In front of me was the face of the beast. His eyes, emerald and serene, watched me with interest. He told me he was sorry about causing me a degree of radiation sickness, explaining he'd been absorbing radiation off me for a few days in order to reverse the effects. I was not mad. I understood that he needed to protect himself.

December 25th, 20XX - Log 105

This will be my last log, for now. It's Christmas, today. I sent my team home, and yet I remain here, keeping Fever company. I don't think I will leave, anymore. I am old, and never married. My family is sparse, and we rarely keep in contact. I don't have anything worthwhile out there. Yet here? I can protect this beast, and keep his secrets safe. I can't let the public know of all he has told me. I will take the information to my grave, so don't bother looking for me. I wish you all well.

Doctor [REDACTED] has signed off.
