Description Here it is, in memory of my dear grandmother, the benevolent witch simply known as Granny, adoptive grandmother to Liz ! I decided to immortalize part of my grandmother's spirit with a character partly based on her, and you know what? She actually does look like grandma! She will also have a similar personality. I'll explain a few things about these characters and leave the details for the colored version. By the way, Granny's hair is still being decided so it might change by then. Now get ready for the Great Wall of Text!

Granny
Background:
A benevolent witch who lives in a forest near the outskirts of a small city. She took Liz into her care after the little witch had mysteriously arrived to her as just a baby with nothing but a note telling her name and to please take care of her. Granny didn't hesitate and took the newborn into her house, recognizing that the baby was another witch, and nowadays Liz calls her Granny, convinced she actually is her grandma.
Personality: Witches in this world are more often than not thought to be all heartless monsters, and for good reasons, but there are those who wouldn't hurt a bug, like Granny. This compassionate, kindhearted soul talks in such a way that even in times of trouble you won't worry. She's a hard worker despite her age, and she actually looks younger than she is. She's very friendly and has a soft spot for kids, unfortunately, her status as a witch doesn't let her show up in town without people lighting up torches and raising pitchforks, so she stays calm and peaceful in her forest.
Weapons and Abilities: Granny is a very skilled sorceress with a wide repertoire of spells and tricks. She uses many kinds of staffs and wands to channel her magic, but she can make spells without them. These spells go from but aren't limited to levitation, force fields, elemental magic, making things seemingly appear out of thin air (but they're actually teleported from somewhere else), transformation and more.
Other info:
-Nobody or very few people know her name, she just tells them to call her Granny.
-Her house in the woods has been passed down for almost 4 generations, Liz being the future 5th. It has even acquired some magic from the witches who lived there so it has kind of an enchanted feel to it, like it's right from a fairy tale.
-Her favorite color is yellow.
-One of her hobbies is sewing. She sewed almost all of Liz's clothes and repairs them when they get scratched.

Charlotte
Background:
A spider who has been living with Granny for a pretty long time, longer than Lucius and Liz in fact, she was even born there. Being in a house with magic in the air, some of that magic affected her giving her the ability to talk and understand human speech, become slightly larger and live longer than other spiders. Charlotte and Granny live in a mutually beneficial relationship: Granny gives Charlotte home and shelter, Charlotte in return gets rid of pesky bugs that get in the house. She has her web conveniently built near the kitchen. She rarely ever leaves the house, but when she does, she knits words in her web saying she'll be back soon.
Personality: The way she eats and treats other bugs may make her seem cold but she's very sweet and, knowing how most people react to spiders, she approaches visitors slowly from a safe distance, allowing them to get used to her and avoiding potential incidents. She's kind and caring, especially towards Liz, but since she's shortsighted and Liz easily gets in trouble, she worries a lot. Granny keeps telling her to calm down laughing.
Weapons and Abilities: Charlotte's bite packs a very powerful venom that can kill 20 men with just one drop. She would never bite a person unless she really had to, though. Like most spiders, Charlotte can make different types of webs, sticky, non-sticky, thin and thick, all very resistant. She has increased longevity and size due to the magic contained in the old house.
Other Info:
-She sometimes helps Granny sew by giving her of her own silk when Granny runs out of strings.
-Yes, she, her name and the word knitting are all based on the spider from Charlotte's Web. I love that book.

Lucius
Background:
Not much to say, Lucius is a stray black cat that Liz, back when she was 8, found in the woods when he was around 3 years old. Ever since, he has lived around the old house, but not necessarily living with the witches and the spider, he just comes and goes as he pleases. He certainly took a liking for the place and its residents, though. He sometimes brings Granny part of his "hunt". Unlike Charlotte, Lucius can't talk and is just an ordinary cat, but he does seem to understand human speech.
Personality: Curious, silent and adventurous. No one knows where or how far he goes when he's not at the house. He has a habit of doing whatever he wants. Despite his laziness, he does care for the witches and Charlotte.
Abilities: All those that any cat has.

I'll say a few more things about them when I post the colored version, but for now this is it for them. What do you think? I dunno how to draw cat anatomy, I just went by what I knew of human anatomy and tried to apply it to a cat.

Thank you. ^^ What other grandma hair have you seen?
And yes, interesting question. I suppose we could say she did. But it could have been Charlotte who decided her own name... It's probably the first one.
