First drawing of this gallery. Made using Paint Tool SAI.
You can say that this was the result of me playing too much World of Tanks lately...
And you can also say that some of these tanks are completely out of proportion... xD
The tanks represented there (at least partially) are: T-26, Matilda Mk.II, Panzer 38t, Char B1, Renault FT-17, KV-2, T-34-85, Tiger II, TOG II and A7V.

Well, TDs are also SPG (Self Propelled Gun). Both arty (I called it either artillery, SPG or field artillery) and TDs (also SPG) are Self Propelled Guns.

Well, by that time I manage to quit KnAAPO, went to work at our shipyard, which means that I worked a little less than a year in a post apocalyptic atmosphere a la Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou, but then I quit that job to and now I'm back on KnAAPO - this time as a young and promising CNC-lathe operator. And this time I have some "top secret" photos to show. That's what about my job. As for the rest there a lot of small news, I don't know where to start, so... Ask me if you're curious about something.
As for the vodka... Yes, I won't deny the fact of the "frontline 100 grams". Officially 100 grams per day was the daily ration of vodka for each soldier. But in fact it was different. Infantry had vodka mostly before the attack - you know, when you have to run towards the machine gun, you have to mute your sence of danger. So, a picture like this is fairly possible:

Tank crews never drank before the fight - because you have to drive, you have to aim and shoot, you need a clear mind, and they never smoke - because tank was filled with explosive vapor of oil and diesel fuel and projectiles were all around. All in all, sometimes tank crews couldn't even eat properly for several days - because they were moved through the woods and swamps without any stops.
So, Russian soldiers are not alcoholics, drunkenness was severely punished, so you'd never see a soldier with a bottle of vodka - unless the moment when all the fights are over and they had a few days to relax. Well, sometimes some people - mostly sergeants and officers - were carrying vodka or even pure ethanol in flasks (www.imageup.ru/img97/1528595/9… ) but that alcohol was "unofficial" and they saved it for very special moments. You know, whatever you know or think, or whatever it seems, Russians have their out culture of drinking - when to drink, what, and how.
Instead of vodka another "national Russian drink" is "chai" - tea. We have our own tradition to make tea and to drink it. About the vodka... It's very interesting to hear from a Russian this
part of history. As I said, I drew this just hearing some commentaries from my friends
and we were just having fun. I have read some articles about the discipline in the Red Army
and I'm aware that they were not alcoholics. Of course, as I said, it's always
interesting to know more about the aspects of your culture. I never knew that tea was
another Russian national drink, for example.
And that remembers me... It's very similar to something that we have here in Brazil.
Brazilians are now very know for drinking alcohol (I think xD), but here we have the word
"cachaceiro", which refers to someone who drinks a lot. This word came from the national
alcoholic beverage "cachaça". People in the southern regions of Brazil also have another drink
called "chimarrão". It's very similar to tea.

And, oh, of course I know you drew it just for fun. I just kind of sensetive about it lately. Is it because of Black Ops or for some reason, but I'm just really sick about that goddamn stereotype. But that's okay, I can bear it. No offence, man.
Well tea is not exactly our national drink, but we're really like it, hot drinks are the best during the cold seasons. Our national thing about the tea is our way to make it. We're brewing the strong tea concentrate in a small tea pot and then diluting it with hot water. You know, I just found out that we have our own "tea culture" (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_… ).
You know, I never thought of Brazilians as of people who drinks a lot. For me you all live in tropical paradise, where the life is so bright and sunny, so you don't need any alcohol at all. You know, Russian drunkenness is a result of our grey, miserable and hopeless life here. People drink alcohol to entertain themselves, to escape the reality. So, it's hard for me to laugh about it.
