Meet Taaffeite, a gem who (unintentionally) fought in the Gem War on Earth.

Created on a colony belonging to Blue Diamond, she was transferred into Pink's Court, present to assist with the initial colonization efforts, prior to the first Earth-born gems coming into existence.

After the war started, Taaffeite simple avoided the combat. That is, until a conflict broke out that she was unable to escape. A rebel attacked her, slicing down the middle of her body and straight through her gem, the cut having enough power to slice but not shatter. Taaffeite was poofed, and the battle ended, and her gem (now two gems) would lie on the ground for a long time.

The pieces, after years of trying to reform, one of the pieces finally formed, the other following soon after. They barely maintained their old forms, with only half the gems to power them. Hi-jinks ensue, exploring the post-war Earth,
encountering corrupted gems, unable to fight without weapons.

One day, the two shards have the bright idea of fusing together, possibly regenerating their old form completely.
The fuse together, two halves coming back together... but it's not right.

They look like they used to, and can use gem powers once again, but something's off. The fusion is unstable, the two halves never feeling completely as one...

Just a doodle, wanted to make another gem but wasn't sure. After a little thought, I picked a gem and started work. May try to draw more of her, idk. Hope it's not too disappointing up close.
