Description
I've been meaning to upload this for a while now but never really got around to it until now. This is a stop motion animation project that I did about a year ago back in the Spring semester of 2009. This was my final for my Experimental Animations class that I thought some of you may enjoy and that I wanted to share. The story was formed from the top of my head, so it's a little silly and kinda random
This particular little puppet was recycled for about 3 assignments in that class and I definitely wanted to use him for my final project. I decided to name him Zeke
Also, sorry for the crappy sound. Which was from a free sound effects site that i forgot the name of... o.O

That's adorable! I love Zeke's expressions, and the cute little noises the fish make

Cute! Good animation. The reaction with the ears/fins when he turns his head is a good touch. I done stop motion before with clay and it was fun but also a bit tricky sometimes. And I still have the clay puppets.

Aww! Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it! Stop-motion animations remind me of childhood as well! From Wallice and Gromit to Gumby and everything in-between!

I got the sound effect off of a free sound effects sight. I totally thought it was appropriate for them!

Ohnoes! Tribbles! I love the expressions. Some good secondary motion going on there with the head fins. The body doesn't move much though... that's the hard part

Thanks for the comment!
Ya his body was completely nailed down. I did a screen test with him before where he walked and it just... was not working. So it indeed was the hard part for me! I decided to not completely go insane and leave his body nailed to the stage x3. I wish i did get his body to move though, but maybe it was for the best, who knows!

Yeah. For full body motion you really have to get an armature specifically made for stop motion. That's how the big companies do it. Like this one! [link] This is really fluid animation, at least compared to some of my stuff I have only tried stop motion a little bit....

Thanks Retro! The expressions were kinda hard to pull off cause he wasn't meant to show expression, just move! Thank god for clay being so manipulative!

I appreciate the comment! He was definitely a fun character to animate! Unfortunately he's so mangled due to being man-handled, but I have a feeling I'm going to be spritzing him up soon
Thanks!

Ya it took some time and lots of patience, indeed! The animating, of course, was the most tedious. But it was definitely fun and extremely enjoyable!
