How to organize your photoshop brushes so you NEVER loose a credit again.... Okay, so really this was just an excuse for me to scribble all over my photoshop screen xD
But I do notice that no one ever remembers where their brushes come from, so I posted my method of remembering. It's REALLY effective, I recommend giving it a try. I included my downloaded brushes folder, as well, to help you see HOW to organize it. Most people just have a C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS2\Presets\Brushes folder, but I added a Downloaded Brushes folder to that, and a dA folder inside of that one. It helps me keep organized. I also do this with my gradients, custom shapes, patterns, and anything else I download.
So don't forget to credit your favorite brush makers ever again!
DOWNLOAD FOR FULL VIEW.
Hope this is useful

Start doing it, with all of the brushes you download from now on, and someday you might be able to get all of your old ones.

Lol. I do something kind of like this, except that I rename them totally in the CS2 folder, but I always save them when I download them to a folder in my documents and keep them named as the original names.

this is so useful- i recently started re-organizing brushes- i have waaaay too many- and unfortunately, i have lost track of many an artists name along the way for a lot of the brushes- now, while browsing, when i come across a brush set that i know i have, i try to go back in & add the artists name to it- it saves a looot of aggravation in the future...
so, yeah, you absolutely have to rename your brushes in a way that you will know what they are- i organize mine similar to yours- with different categories, but i'll also add a short description so that i have a better idea of exactly which "Floral- Realistic" or "Floral- Swirls" brush set it is - especially if you've got 50 different floral swirls brushes!

Brilliant idea! I was wondering how to keep them all straight, both for crediting and also for just knowing what the heck I have (so I don't download them a second time.) This should work great.
