Sweet. Tough little ship indeed. (Worf: "Little?")
Of course, consider that the Lakota, an Excelsior-class ship (as in, designed in Kirk's era!) can be upgraded to stand even with the newest designs. Even if if the transwarp thing didn't work out, the class really was everything they meant it to be.

Hey, man, good job on the scene. One thing I didn't like about the entire battle was that they didn't show much of it at all, and the shots they did use were pretty generic. It would be great if you produced a picture or two of varying angles with the Defiant buzzing around Lakota.
Keep up the good work!

I watched that episode just the other night, one of the times that they really got the feel of the Defiant right in combat. So many times they seemed to allow it to fall into the old "Federation Ships sits there and gets battered" scenario when it was one of the most formiddable battleships in the quadrant.

Oh yeah. The other thing that was weird that no matter how many torps hit her, the Defiant is unscracted, while Galaxy class ships fall like dead flies in the Autumn...

I always thought that came from the fact that there was so much more of a Galaxy Class to hit and so many vital elements of the propulsion system such as the nacels there to be battered away at.
But on the other hand you would think that the Defiant, being more compact, would have been more heavily damaged by the sheer number of hits it takes in every encounter!
Perhaps the compact design and the ablative armour mean that there's nothing to hit unless you breech the armour?

Very accurate! I first thought that this was a screen-cap .
The only thing that is off is that the pulse phasers are supposed to be hitting shields....otherwise it's a near perfect recreation.
Good Job!

Each part of a starship's body has its own shield; i.e, the nacelles have their own shields, the engineering hull has its own shield, and the saucer has its own shield.

Thank you!
Yeah, some pules are just flying around, there is one which hits the shield, though

Great work Dave, you keep choosing awesome scenes to recreate
Is the green glow in front of the starboard nacelle part of the model, or was it in the original scene from the episode? It's been awhile since I watched that episode.

Thank you. The green glow is supposed to be a navigational light...

I remember this. DS9. The only other time you see an Excelsior refit other than in Generations.

the only time you see the enterprise-b refit on TV
nice way to hide the "USS ENTERPRISE" name on the hull

Thank you.
Yeah, had to hide the name. It's no texture but hard-modelled letters and numbers.
Fun fact: The Ent-B variant appeared on screen because the adhesive used to affix the additional parts to the Excelsior modell damaged the model in a way that the creators found it easier to glue the parts back on and use the variant configuration. For VOY: Flashback, they built a completely new Excelsior, unfortunately with TMP era glowing nacelles...

Nice Shot, the camera position is a much better firing position though.

Thank you. Yeah, it's a better position but I wanted to remain faithful to the original scene
