I always liked the TOS nacelles,They have more a realistic feel on what Designs would be used in 200 years or so.
The new movie nacelles look to Hollywood.

hehe, pretty much everything you've done is SOTL worthy.

I also agree on the texture work man, your work here has been stellar. ^_^

Thank you very much.

I love this little ship. I always want to be as show-accurate as possible. She still isn't perfect, but at my current skills, I built her as good as I could.

As long as YOU are pleased with the result -- that is all that matters!

It took me a long time to heed that piece of advice (for which I thank my father).

fantastic, is the planet a textured sphere or just an image ?

It's an Apollo mission photo.

I know what it is with the engines. They are not at full impulse power, more like a quarter impulse power or preparing for docking.

Nothing's wrong with them. They are like all TOS impulse drives.

The impulse - its either too small or something but it looks wrong on the model. Just me, ignore it if you want its just an opinion.

Eh, TOS ships have been hit or miss with me too. I've never really cared for the neck of the Connie. The thing is so small, and looks structurally unsound. Not to mention so thin, yet has a set of windows on each side...

karanua In reply to GateFan [2010-08-24 06:50:55 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I've had that same conversation with Ricky about the connys neck. Theres loads of stuff on canon trek ships that don't "add up".

GateFan In reply to karanua [2010-08-24 16:01:40 +0000 UTC]

Indeed. Which is why I wish I had a modeling program so that I could "re-imagine" or retconn them. I actually like the one Connie you have on your page by Dan Uyeno. That is what the Connie should have originally looked like.

I totally agree, there are a few features on the secondary that I don't particularly agree with but to put these right I may as well just build my own version and if certain medical predictions concerning my near future or lack of one come to naught then its a project that I might like to tackle.

I based them on this blueprint:

TOS impulse engines were this small.

That looks neat! What program did you use to make this?

Thank you!

I used 3DS Max.
