Description
Here is a photo which I took of some Himalayan Balsam flowers at a local nature reserve. They are so beautiful I think they will make a great subject for a painting. Unfortunately I discovered that they are a "non-native invasive" species, so are a substantial nature problem here!Oh well, they're still gorgeous!

I totally agree, its like orchids they also are considered as "enemy species" in certain area even if they are beautiful ! Are Himalayan Balsam from the Orchid family ?

I don't think they're orchid related. I only knew the name because I emailed the nature reserve manager to ask him.

I thought they may be related because the shape of the flowers seemed alike .. never mind

There are just so many related species of orchids and tropical flowers it's hard to know I all ! But with their particular shapes and vibrant colors they always appeal to me
