Description
A new knife painting of the windmill and wheatfield at Horsey in Norfolk, UK (the wheatfield is a bit imaginary!). It is my largest ever knife painting, 24x18 inches. Cryla acrylics on stretched canvas. It is entirely painted with painting knives (the only brush used to undercoat the sides of the canvas. No palette used - all colours were mixed on the canvas.Colours used: ultramarine, titanium white, bismuth yellow, mars yellow, carmine crimson, nickel titanate yellow, raw umber, violet ochre, pthalo turquoise. Photographed in bright sunlight to bring out the texture.

If only I had your talent to maneuver painting knives as well as you do! This is great! The stroke and swipe of vivid color really add onto the movement of the piece. There's so much "wind;" and the red on the corners envelop the painting with a sense of harmony between the plants and blue sky.
