I might try that in oil pastels. I am always nervous of whites (being hard to paint on white paper) but this has a nice dark background, so seems to make the white shine.

or use colored charcoal/pastel paper...maybe in a dark green...it'll look great!

As suggested, I painted this in oil pastels this weekend - see "Daisy 2" in my gallery. I didn't have any green pastel paper, so used card primed with gesso and dark green acrylic.
