Description
My second attempt at painting Black Eyed Susans, and the next in my series of semi abstract impasto flowers. But this time with a twist - I wanted to see how it would work with small beads embedded in the acrylic paint. It is a 7x5 inch painting in Cryla acrylics, all painted with painting knives. The colours are ultramarine, cerulean blue, bismuth yellow, pthalo green and, of course, cadmium yellow for the flowers. I'm not quite sure whether this is "mixed media" - acrylic beads in acrylic paint!? Maybe that's one just medium LOL...
Anyway, it is highly experimental, so please do let me know what you think! Updated photo - photographed in bright sunlight from a low angle, to bring out the impasto texture.

the brush strokes have a very van gogh feel to them. i like the shadows cast by the beads! clever idea.

Thank you so much! Interesting to see my acrylic painting alongside all those beautifully bright photographs, but it seems to fit in quite well!
