Description Here's my version of "Lady in a green jacket" by August Macke. Sennelier and Neopastel oil pastels on Sennelier oil pastel card, 9x6 inches.

Compared to the original I feel that your has more energy. The texture created by the stroke and roughness or the oil pastel gives it more life. Not a replica, but a nice interpretation.

this is very nice i will be honest... i havent seen the original but i like this ^^ great composition and the colouring is great i think this piece is very energetic with its colours

Thank you, it is quite similar to the original, and at least as vibrant. It is a "German expressionist" painting and it was suggested that they are well suited to oil pastels, due to the vibrant colours you can easily get with them...

I think that the medium you've chosen doesn't allow for the smooth graduation and transition of colours - maybe dry pastels would be better.
But you've caught the composition, colours and mood of the painting perfectly

Thanks - I think oil pastels probably can achieve that transition of colours, it's just that I haven't yet achieved the technique or patience...!
