TCC = Tetsuko Cosplay CalendarI first learned about Urusei Yatsura (and anime in general) in 1987, and "Ramu-chan" quickly became one of my favorite animated characters. (One of my proudest achievements in life is the fact that I've managed to collect all of UY - all the TV episodes, theatrical films, and OAVs* - on DVD.)
Lum was actually one of the earliest characters I'd wanted Tetsuko to cosplay (since UY was one of her favorite shows as well, and two of her favorite songs are UY theme songs: "Pajama Ja Mada" and "Tonogata Gomen Asobase" ); I got a note from a reader the other day asking for Lum as a TCC, and that clinched the deal!

Very nice. Oddly enough I can't remember an episode where Lum was ever muscular or super strong, unlike Shinobu who was like this almost every appearance when she got mad.

There is an interesting scene in the first Urusei Yatsura movie Only You, in which one of Elle's agents, "Nanabake Rose" (a supposed "master of disguise"), dresses as Lum; she wrenches open a massive steel door in an impressive (if temporary) display of muscularity. So we do get a momentary glimpse of a muscular woman in a Lum bikini, if not an actual muscular Lum.

THAT, I remember now that you mention it. And considering the year the movie was made. At the time, she would have been "huge." But ah, the times have changed.
