everybody is saying steel pipe...with the shading, it looks to me more like a sword blade (just the blade)...which might possibly explain the bloody tail.......

Steel pipe? Whatever it is, he appears to be a force to be reckoned with judging from what looks like blood splatter on his face. Also, interesting place to keep his tail.
