I am a huge Gambit fan, imagine how happy I am to find youuuuuuu. Fantastic work, ass kicking, dynamic, and has that deep shading on Gambit's face that makes his eyeballs glow more. Ha!

Thanks man.
The pages take a few days on average... a couple if I'm going good. Not fast at any rate.

This stuff looks great David! Did you do the larger washes with ink and then others with the pencils?
If you post more please put up larger ones.
Lastly, did the color look good? Assuming it was colored.

I just copied and pasted the images Marvel had on their website.
The larger areas were ink wash, then I went back over the detailed areas with the pencil wash.
I haven't seen the colour yet... don't even know who the colourist is.

I just tried some of those pencils. Very interesting! Not sure how I'll incorporate them in my work yet, but fun to sketch with.
So you don't feel the need to discuss a job with the colorist?

I'd like to, but I doubt I'll get given the opportunity.

Almost every job I work on I ask for contact info on the rest of the art team.
When I mainly penciled I always discussed the job with the inker (if it wasn't me) and the colorist, and even the letterer.
As an inker I still often speak to the colorist. Most artists are open to discuss the job. If they're not you soon find out.
I like to try and communicate my vision because often like you or me their are many styles to draw on. When I ink another artist I like to hear from the penciler what he likes or is into as opposed to me just taking over the job.
I see the whole team, writer to colorist, are sorta like a rock band. If we don't communicate I think we won't get the best from each other.

Everyone is at least a fraction of Charest!
Gah -- almost feels like we have to come up with Frank Sinatra-like comments using Charest. "I't's Travis Charest's world, we just live in it."
Heh.

Everyone is at least a fraction of Charest!
And yet if you put us all together we still don't seem to measure up to one Travis.

He has a special T-factor. A Travisness unique to only him.
Heh.

I like having a bit more control of the mood with the wash stuff.
