Description Old slide taken at the National Museum in Washington DC in the first couple of hours that the King Tutankhamen exhibit was opened in the first tour here in the US.. I had been at the Air and Space museum across the way and on the way out..we saw them unfurling the Tut banner on the museum and walked over. There was NO line..NO charge..and we were about the ONLY people there..that changed rather quickly and there were always huge lines and fees to get in for a glimpse of his treasures. I've always wondered how I got so lucky as to be in the right place at the right time like that!!!

I wonder is the blank under the chin, supposed to be a beard, or an elephant trunk?

Makes me mad when they don't let Egyptians take any photos of the mask but let foreigners take as many as they want XD

I think that I was also in that beautiful Tutankhamun exhibition.. we were there for hours, it was so interesting to see and read. It wasn't in Washington DC though, but in the middle of some park in the west coast.

Oh hey! I went to that exhibit on a feild trip once! It was amazing! *o* The artifacts they had found were just astonishing to see, since they were made centuries ago.
And sorry if this is a new comment on a picture from 2007. I like to comment on pictures from a few years ago.

I saw such an exhibit a number of years ago as a child... I remember being thoroughly annoyed and disgusted with the many people that couldn't help but want to touch everything... no respect, I thought. A wonderful exhibit though, and I'm glad that you got to see it.
