My first of three entries for the art challenge for Warchicks. [link]
The challenge is to create picture based on three ideas. This one is for the concept of "Magic." What better place to feature than the sanctum of Malygos, the aspect of magic itself? This is why I chose to draw the Nexus, one of my favorite places in Northrend. I also included a lone mage casting in the foreground, which is a nod to my main World of Warcraft character (a human mage).
Screenshots were used for reference only. Everything was drawn from scratch. Tools: Photoshop CS3, G-Pen F610 tablet.
