Wow, how do you do this? I've always wanted to do something like this but I can't think in shades and stuff like that very well to match the highlights/lowlights.

I actually followed a pretty simple tutorial here: [link]
basically, cut yourself out of the background, use a filter to change it to only 4 shades of grey, use magic wand to select each shade separately, and stamp it up with custom text brushes and fill it up with custom text pattern. I managed it with lame photoshop elements 6. it's super easy and pretty fun.
