of course and to tell you the truth I've only seen clips of Kill la Kill battles,but I was blown away,though I am skeptical of the Scissor Blade's design,cause it's looks odd

Ah, Nui Harime, the killer of Ryuko's father took half of the scissor blade and changed the color to purple when she killed Ryuko's father but i'll show you a link to the full version and Nui with the other half of the blade below

That was never really explained, the other half of the scissor blade is purple when in Nui's possession and red when in Ryuko or her father's possession
