Indeed, it's a rare sight when Retsy actually breaks down like that. You can be sure, as a guy who feels any show of emotions is a show of weakness, if Retsubnad actually visibly cries over something, it's under extreme emotional stress and entirely genuine...
One example of this was in an old RP story I once did with Alex, where at the end of the story Retsy was completely broken.
After being beaten up by the good guys over being sent on a deadly mission to bring him a rare mineral, his recent experiments with said mineral caused him to lose his castle in a fierce fire. Thoronraw and Wally away for certain reasons, Retsy was alone - and too weak to salvage anything at the time, even magic. He was forced to seek shelter at Danbuster's house after trudging the entire way in pouring rain. On top of all this happening to him in the space of one day, finding Danbuster so unconditionally sympathetic to his plight tipped his ragged emotions over the edge.
(In the aftermath of this storyline, he was later reunited with Wally and Thoronraw, who were happy to assist with the Dan Clan's efforts to restore and rebuild the trashed castle, bringing it back up to date with mod-cons and everything)

Indeed... and I've been showing a fair bit of their relationship in these Alex RPs... that though they are opposed to each other over Retsy's world-domination policies, the brothers are still very close through a natural bond. Retsy's a complicated guy, with a lot of hidden good in him, when he's not too busy being the bad guy!

Heh, heh... well, Retsy's a huge Tolkien fan, after all...
I guess you could say he's something of an all-rounder, but certainly he specialises in Elemental magic. There's no summoning of any occult spirits with my characters, just simple manipulation of Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Light.

Yup, he certainly puts a lot of energy into his best spells...
Well, with him, that's kind of how it works - energy. On a good day, he's capable of some powerful magic, especially since over the years he's learned to use his energy efficiently for greater effect. But when he gets tired, he runs out of mana.

Retsubnad: Naturally, I have my own range of emotions... nobody is made of stone, not even me. *looks pained for a moment, thinking back on past memories, but smooths it out and forces a small smile* I just prefer not to show weakness.
