O3O I can't really say, the character is Ryu from a Game called Breath of Fire III

O3o if I'm right, in kid version he's between 8 to 11 years old... I wish I was more accurate but the age is not specified during the whole game XP

Mhmm, I think I know what you mean there. Personally, it was the action scenes that didn't fully deliver for me. I mean, whenever I saw the tiniest snippets of them in the previews, I got SUPER-hyped, but seeing them fully, it didn't really excite me as much as, say, the Avengers did, as I was kind of expecting the action to be on that level and/or exceed it... but as far as the action went, it was kinda standard for Zack Snyder's direction, but nonetheless enjoyable... ^^

yeah, the fight scenes where maybe too long... in fact my mom came to a point where she said metropolis people must have said at some point "Stop helping us, dud!" 3/4 of the city destroyed for no apparent reason other than the show of special effects xP

ShaneySqueeBoy In reply to dcrisisbeta [2013-08-12 18:26:52 +0000 UTC]

Yes, that's been debated a lot in the criticism of the films. You won't believe how many people I've heard whine that Superman "didn't save anyone" or he "let people die" or whatever... whether or not people DID die in it, though, it certainly isn't Superman's fault. I mean, this is in the midst of his origin story, when he's not yet made a public name for himself of Earth completely, and it's being invaded by a whole group of beings with his exact same powers, and a lot stronger than him, too! He's only doing his best, and starting out that way, too... Besides, if there were any deaths in it, they're most likely Zod's fault, since he initiated the giant Terraformer machine to try and convert Earth's atmosphere into that of Krypton's, which was the main cause of most of the destruction...

lol, have you seen the video 'how it should have ended' about man of steel?
OwO its exactly about that debate XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ShaneySqueeBoy In reply to dcrisisbeta [2013-08-12 19:21:52 +0000 UTC]

XDDD I know, I've been anticipating that video for so long, and it turned out great! :3 Of course, that would make sense if Superman were a little more experienced and wasn't thrust upon stopping the invasion so rapidly... also, not to put a downer on the video, but according to canon logic, Jor-El's consciousness wouldn't have known about the fail drive that could happen to Zod's ship unless he was inserted in there first, which he was in the movie thanks to Lois Lane...

dcrisisbeta In reply to ShaneySqueeBoy [2013-08-16 03:00:42 +0000 UTC]

OwO well for that you are completely right XD

Owo it was still funny the beggining "oh, you wanted your consciousness there too?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ShaneySqueeBoy In reply to dcrisisbeta [2013-08-16 03:03:40 +0000 UTC]

Of course!! X3 That was admittedly hilarious... I also REALLY liked how they addressed how much more logical it would be for Superman to seek guidance from Jor-El rather than a random priest. I know they did what they did in the movie to make Superman more humanly relatable, but still, a random priest sorta seems like a humanity-propaganda move... Jor-El wouldn't exactly know about the fail drive thing if Superman came to him, but I'm sure he could help him out somehow...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

dcrisisbeta In reply to ShaneySqueeBoy [2013-08-16 17:17:45 +0000 UTC]

yup. yup and yup OwO

I agree the priest scene was just to make him human accessible but still it was a derp moment for most

Even without the fail drive Jor-El could've helped more if Superman stayed to listen

Other than that what was that about him unable to fly the first half of the movie at all, I mean Jor-El tells him 'test yourself and exceed your limits' (or something like that) and suddenly 3 jumps later he's flying as if he had always xP (not considering Smallville's tv series where Clark was scared of flying apparently, but his evil side flies suddenly as if its nothing O-O)

And like most Superman fans I Keep asking WTF?? SUPERMAN DOESN'T KILL! when he does its an evil clone and in the game Injustice: Gods among us)

OwO anyway I did laugh at the pic about people complaining about the hair that should twirl (dunno how to call it) from his forehead (the one that says its one superman has it and the next doesn't)

ShaneySqueeBoy In reply to dcrisisbeta [2013-08-17 04:01:01 +0000 UTC]

Heheh, yeah... X3 Though, I'm pretty sure the flying practice scene was meant to be shown as more gradual, and probably jump-cut time lapses a bit too quick. As for the "Superman doesn't kill" thing... the Zod death didn't bother me. In fact, this being an origin story, perhaps that very action was what made Superman finally realize that killing is wrong and that he should never do it again, therefore officially marking the "no kill" rule for him. He needed a reason to have it, anyway. Batman's always had a "no kill" rule because his parents were shot by a mugger when he was a small boy, so the establishment's always been there for him. Besides, if Superman doesn't kill, then what exactly did he do to Zod and company in Superman 2, when he stripped them of their powers and threw them down the deep chasms in between his Fortress of Solitude? You think Zod, Ursa and Non were really able to survive that extremely long fall down, especially without their powers? And yet when THAT happened, audiences cheered for the grinning good guy, not noticing that he actually murdered the villains. Now, when Superman kills the villain and it's plain to see, and even when he shows deep remorse for it, audiences become torn...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

dcrisisbeta In reply to ShaneySqueeBoy [2013-08-20 17:42:45 +0000 UTC]

O3O well, audiences tend not to notice death's off screen unless truly implied OwO

because if we go that far, 90% of super-heroes doesn't kill (or at least try not to) and in the movies 90% of the time they kill the villains (rarely capture them for arrest in most cases, and in most cases the death of the villain was his/her own fault)

OwO the only time Batman actually kills (not meaning one of the movies) was in the Flashpoint saga of the comics...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ShaneySqueeBoy In reply to dcrisisbeta [2013-08-20 20:24:28 +0000 UTC]

Quite true... And yeah, I was about to bring up the first Batman movie where Batman essentially killed the Joker by latching a heavy-as-hell gargoyle to his foot while he was trying to get away in his helicopter. That, I have a problem with. Batman's had a strict no-kill rule since his parents were murdered...

O3O yup, hollywood likes to mess up the super-hero rule...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ShaneySqueeBoy In reply to dcrisisbeta [2013-09-03 21:18:20 +0000 UTC]

Yup, because they have the strange yet occasionally functional idea that superheroes killing the villains in their movies makes for a good climax. I'd beg to differ, especially in the case of what The Dark Knight has shown us, that instead of letting the Joker fall to his death, Batman lifted him back up to safety, and to justice. Why can't other superhero movies work that way??
