another one: how to use collections

Install: phi.pf-control.de/userscripts/…

Mirror: greasyfork.org/de/scripts/5771…

This is a working script! Install it if you want this!

asked me to collaborate for the current dA-Related Collaborative Contest and made a suggestion about listing all groups, changing the display and graying out Groups you can't submit to:
fav.me/d4veqv4

Functions:

  • List all your groups (your member of) at once with icons and descriptions*!
  • Search within your group's name real-time and with regexp**!
  • All groups he deviation is already in will be grayed out***
  • Search for new groups by typing "#", the name of the group and return. If you are allowed to submit, it will be temporary displayed within the list.
  • Make your own lists of groups! Just select a group, type the name of the collection in the panel on the bottom-left and press "OK" while "Add" is selected. Now when you choose the new entry and click "show" all added groups will be shown! Selecting and pressing "OK" while "Remove" is selected will remove them from the collection. empty collections will get deleted
  • Type "*" and the list of a group-collection to show the groups within the collection!
  • You can even add groups you aren't a member of to the a collection-group! You only have to search for them via inserting their name with a "#" before and pressing enter to get the new list-entry. Then select it and add it to your collection
  • Multiple group-collections can be made at once (one for photos, one for journal-skins, one for general groups etc.)
  •  Hiding feature: hide groups from your list

  • *To get/refresh the grouplist, you need to simply click the button "Update List of Groups"
**Regexp provides wildcards as placeholder and many other useful things:
Type "Journal|CSS" to get all groups with "Journal" or "CSS" in their name.
Type "d.*d" to get all groups with 2 "d" in their name.
Type "ba(na)*d?" to match "band", "banana", "bad" etc.
Type "beauty" to get all groups with "beauty" in their name.^^
Invalid regexps will be marked red.
***only the groups listed on the deviation's page will be grayed, so after submitting, you need to refresh to get the new one grayed out.
This also means that for suggestion favourites it won't gray out anything.

    Preferences:
    works well with...
    firefox + Greasmonkey-addon ,
    chrome + tampermonkey,

Information for installing can be seen here: fav.me/d4akman

I have always loved this script.
The groups my art is already submitted to no longer is graved out to show that it is already in that group.
I sort of got it to work on Firefox but the Chrome version won't work no matter what I do.

EDIT: I found out I had not actual Chrome version! After updating it to the newest version, everything works normal!

Here's what my problem looked like:

Hello! I'm also not a beta tester and I have the similar problem, but it not only constantly update the list of groups. Basically the script made the groups update button activate by itself when I tried to add work to the group, and nothing changes from now on. The groups showcased are the 10 ones that would appear without the script on, but the search for any other group that is not on the list doesn't even work. I use Chrome with Tapermonkey. The other scripts I'm using are deviantArt group folder selector sort by name.user , but turning it off didn't change behaviour of your script.

Then other two alre OCLB  and One Click Llama Button Helper v0.18.2 .

I've reinstalled Tapermonkey and updated the script, but no effect.

    Hi!

I've been using this script for months now, and it's really wonderful!!
But since some days now, when I click the button "Update list of groups" it stays with the little clock and it never finish updating. Could maybe be that Deviantart changed something in the site and it's getting in conflict with the script?
My account is Beta Tester and some days ago Deviantart sent a note telling they were changing the urls from youname.deviantart.com to  www.deviantart.com/yourname
And I got this problem with the update button, but I have a friend who is not a beta tester that doesn't have that problem.

Just wanting to let you know, if you are interested in updating it, or something. In any case, thank you for this wonderful script

Hi! Thanks for letting me know!

Yes, this might cause a lot of my scripts to fail...

On the other hand, this will resolve the cross-site-request issue of many scripts, that cannot change subdomains...

I made an update to v2.1. This should support both url cases.

I just installed this on a different PC with up-to-date firefox and Greasemonkey.  Here it seems to work without problems.

You could try uninstalling it, restarting the browser to clear the data and then install it again. This will remove all collections though, so you better save them before you do that.

What browser are you using? I didn't have time to check this on any other browser thoroughly than Firefox, so there might be a Problem with Chrome/Opera/Edge or with Scriptish. For those browsers I recommend Tampermonkey.

I have the same problem as GraphicAssets. Chrome refuses to be fixed.  Tried reinstalling and everything. I always use Tampermonkey on Chrome. And Greasemonkey on Firefox.
But it won't work on Chrome no matter what I try. It just keeps on endlessly updating the groups.

Paryficama In reply to Dediggefedde [2018-04-14 14:07:20 +0000 UTC]

yes! i don't know if they are possible tho
i love this script it made my life way easier!

as i am a design seller i need to add it to about 100 groups in order for it to get some attention

    suggestions:
Adding list -so i can make a list ex. group:A folder:1, group folder:5 so i can just click
and it will automatically add this deviation to those groups (or in order not to crash or spam) or
Edit the group list - and allow to save folders too if the adding list isn't posible. if it is
status(? or maybe another name) box - would be usefull. so i can see a list of actions that haven't been completed
( also with a clear button would be awesome) i can also see to which groups i cant submit (some groups have limit)
or highlight the groups i cant submit with color red and the one with red and with orange groups with folders
    i can't submit anymore

    👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dediggefedde In reply to Paryficama [2018-04-24 23:13:45 +0000 UTC]

    Thanks for the suggestions!

The first suggestion is similar to the collections. Except the option to submit to all of a collection's groups automatically, of course.
I'm not a big fan of mass-automating submitting deviations to groups. This will just encourage spamming groups... imagine you watch 15 out of 1000 groups related to chibi-characters and an artist uploads 4 new deviations to 200 of those groups in a day. Then chances are high he hits all 15 groups you watch and you get 60 notifications about the same 4 images...
Technically wise this might be easy to implement, though... I will think about it.

With Status-Box you mean something like a ToDo-list? I don't see yet, how this relates to the groups. A list of groups to submit to? Well, in Principle you can make a collection with those groups. And those which already have the submission are grayed out. This doesn't work for groups that need to accept by hand, though.

There is also a problem with displaying, which groups you can't submit to. At the moment, I fetch the group-data from paryficama.deviantart.com/moda… . And as you can see, this only contains the already displayed information. To check for permission, I would need to make a request for each group on the list. I'm not sure how much this would slow down the page... I guess I could do it while fetching groups or while scrolling through the list and then only for the displayed groups... I think about this for a bit.

thanks for considering my suggestions and the info! i understand why you would add this option (automatically add). in the adopt community is a lot of spam you can see the same deviations is 10 groups but thats great for us because its so hard to get people to buy your design because a lot of people submit at the same time

Hi! Sorry, but I don't understand the question...

The icons in the list are automatically fetched from your modal-site.
    In your case, that's lucid-dreamss.deviantart.com/m…

You can't give collections an icon.
The picture on the left shows the image that you want to submit.
