Description If you haven't read Catch-22 , get to a bookstore or library right now.

This cartoon came about because I wanted to do something that commented not just on how people without insurance are screwed when it comes to health matters, but also to point out that even having insurance won't do much for you when your provider does everything it can to wriggle out of covering it, as often seems to happen.

Please view the cartoon on my website here , and you can also help by upvoting it on reddit and digg and the like.

Nice drawings, but is the doctor supposed to be Doc Daneeka ? If it is, I think he smiles too much.

This is brilliant! I've just finished reading Catch 22 for school, and it's pretty much one of the most amazing books on the planet. This comic really captures the feeling of the whole book. I love it!

Oh yes, it'll be well worth your effort. My uncle often jokes about me or cousins of mine writing "the great American novel," and whenever he does I can't help but think it's already been done–my mind principally goes to Catch-22 or A Confederacy of Dunces, as far as that goes.

Are you in college, or high school? If high school: I'm jealous. Mine didn't even have Nineteen Eighty-Four on the required reading list.

maybe I'll have to check that one out too then :>

High school, and yeah- I've been pretty lucky, we've gotten to read some pretty cool books. We read 1984 last year. We even got to read The Three Musketeers, which is totally inaccurate historically and full of questionable morals (by today's standards).

Catch-22 is an amazing book.
I love how he looks like he's rolling his eyes in the last panel.

Both a brilliant literature reference (One of the best books of all time) and a nice comentary.
Thank god we have the NHS on this side of the pond.

Is your Doc Daneeka based on the one in the movie? There's definitely a resemblance.

There also seems to be a similarity between the design of Yossarian here and his move version, doesn't it? Not quite as striking as in Doc's case, but still noticable.
