Description Yup, the spacescape bug has definitely hit.

Anyways, here ya go. A tall instead of wide one, and in purples and blues instead of reds and oranges. I had fun doing this one despite having been a bit interrupted by some severe weather and the puter locking up in hot weather yesterday. Luckily I'd been hitting save pretty often and only lost a few big stars on it last night. So I finished it up today.

Both planets are originals. Yup.

Anyways, Photoshop 7.0, maybe 2-4 hours considering I just spent most of an hour pecking away at stars here, and last night kept getting interrupted....blech....

Wow! I sure do love the purple space! Yeah I followed Greg's tutorial, but the only frustrating part for me to go was to doing the space dust which I'm not sure what texture to put in my brush! All I get is a single solid color and nothing compared to how you did it! YIKES!

Hmm, which Photoshop are you using? I might be able to help...

Photoshop CS2! You may note me if you would like to.

DeepChrome In reply to NekoKnuxaechidna [2008-12-11 06:09:25 +0000 UTC]

CS2, that's what I've got. Perfect.

Okay, when you open the program, and get your spacescape document open....

...look to the folder-style tabs in the upper right hand corner on the second bar down from the top. There should be a tab taht says Brushes. Click on that. It'll open up a window. Texture is the one you want. Check that, and click on the word, and play away with the textures. Then try making some brush strokes.

...I can't feel that space-drifting thing in my head again. I come up with a rather techno-ish beat in my head. Too bad I don't know how to put it on the keyboard to listen (sigh)...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DeepChrome In reply to StreetShadow [2006-06-01 21:41:16 +0000 UTC]

Heh, I like techno. If anything, space music ought to have more techno in it sometimes. (I <3 the Matrix's music so....there....)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

StreetShadow In reply to DeepChrome [2006-06-01 21:53:51 +0000 UTC]

I can think Techno so perfectly in my mind when I think of an awesome beat I create with my imagination, nevertheless any type of Electronica. What sux is that I can't play the electric piano or any instrument.

I hope scientists will one day build a device that lets us record your own music from within the depths of our minds! That be cool!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DeepChrome In reply to StreetShadow [2006-06-02 00:01:14 +0000 UTC]

I could use that too, as the same thing happens to me. I can come up with beats I can bob my head to, but I can't TRANSFER them to something on the computer. I have an electronic keyboard and I'm reasonable with it...but what I really could use right now is sound-recording software and a hookup from keyboard to the computer.

The Brain is a very complicated organ to decode and one day use that organ for our own advantage.

A warning computer chip insterted in your head to warn you of whatever sickness you have upcoming instead of just the symptoms.
Most diseases have similar symptoms so it would be hard to tell how severe it is.

A holographic image projectile inserted in your head when you can see what your thinking (video game related only) of. Imagine, thinking your own game in your head while playing it without Television poisoning. Watching too much T.V. is bad for you.

I don't what other futuristic boost-ups our brains can have but I like the music one more.

Thanks.

Oh, try looking up Greg Martin's tutorials on his site. (I think it's artofgregmartin.com or something...maybe someone'll correct me here soon) He's got basic spacescape with nebulae and rocky planet tutorials.

I've got to find one for living planets, but I think I could figure it out on my own after some practice. Besides, I've Terragen on me. Worse comes to worse, I go make an aerial render, and turn it into a brush texture.
