PLS&TY - Run Wildim fiercely embracing my resolution for allowing myself personal art, ive denied it for 3 years plus, im not going to anymore. plus its a no stress exercise to figure out my style change. ive not drawn dustane in a long long time, and decided to toy with his markings to get him to look more like the red wolf he is.
on that note id like to remind everyone that theres more than undeniable proof we'll loose all our wild red wolves within 50 years or less, im unsure of the number but a quick google will tell those that want to know.

Good for you! Personal art is so important and I think many artists reach their true potential when they are creating with and for themselves. Of course, there is nothing negative about having an art career or occasionally drawing for others, but I think you are wise to be protective of your time to make personal art! I've heard so many "horror stories" about people who used to be passionate about arts, writing, reading, or some other hobby and then never made it a priority and quit once they became adults! :c Anyways, your style is super inspiring and I love love love your use of color and texture!! C: Your art looks how I want mine to look in a few years!
Sad news about the red wolf... I hate hearing that animals are going extinct, I feel there is so little I could do to prevent it. I would have loved to see a thylacine in person but they were extinct long before I was born.

and many ppl that take commissions do too. its by far the most common thing mentioned i see monthly :c

yea its very sad that barely anyone cares about wolf extinction, stupid Obama removed the wolf species from the endangered list. Β

that was for gray wolves not for red wolves. grays are doing very well and while im not a fan of that protection being removed either, i understand it.

This literally made my day? I love red wolves, and yes it is disheartening to think someday they may be gone, but I want to study them for a living, and I will do my best to help conserve their species. Btw thereβs approximately 50 left in the wild, and 200 scattered across the US in captivity. They are only native to North Carolina, but they once roamed the entire east coast. Red wolves are my passion. Thereβs a really great wildlife preserve close to the border of NC and VA called Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge, and they are largely responsible for maintaining the few red wolves that remain. I would love to visit and see one, but they are shy and tend to stray away from people. They really are beautiful. Iβm glad someone else loves them too.

If there's 50 then that may be were I got that # from, all I remember was knowing that they'd be extinct well within my life time. I understand your passion, and I'm glad to see others that love these little buggers too<3
