Must be a newer one, then. Iβm used to the older 102 heads. Neat idea to use it that way, though.

It's a 202VF head. I'm mostly using Elinchrom BXRi line now though, since they're much more common in my country, and I just love Skyport
Thanks

I have a pair of Skyports, but Iβm seriously considering tossing them in the garbage. Iβve had nothing but trouble with them as long as Iβve had them and the transmitter is currently held together with an elastic band and a piece of gafferβs tape. Worst investment I ever made. I hope yours are doing better.

What sort of problems are you having with them? and which version of Skyport are you using (mines's the Skyport Transmitter Speed)?
I've only owned it for less than a month now (although the studio I work with has them as well), and never really had any problems with them. Not a single miss fire, which surprisingly I did have with Pocket Wizards Plus 2 (maybe I was just unlucky, since everyone seems to swear by them). But then again, I never really had any trouble with Yongnuo triggers either. So far they seem solid enough, and I really enjoy the fact that I can control the lights from the camera position, saves me a lot of time. But like I said, it's still too early to tell, still, I got it free with my strobes, so I'm not really losing anything.
I'm sure the Profoto (the only other lighting setup worth a damn in my country, unless you wanna import Broncolors) solution is much more solid, but it's also double the price.

I have one of the original Skyport sets. The antenna on the transmitter is incredibly flimsy and Iβm constantly having to fiddle with it to try to get it to work. Usually when it does work, it stays working for the duration of the shoot, but I often have to spend ten to twenty minutes fiddling with it to get it working. I even brought it back to the shop I bought it at to have them look at it, but since the problem is intermittent, they of course could find nothing wrong with it. Iβm not in love with PWs (I find their form factor to be somewhat obtrusive) but every time Iβve used those, theyβve worked flawlessly for me.
If I can start getting more business, I might go the Profoto or Broncolor route, but for the time being Iβm stuck.

I dunno, then they might've fixed some issues in the newer versions of Skyport. Or you were just extremely unlucky with them. Anyway, sorry you had such a bad experience with them.
Yeah, wouldn't we all love some Profoto or Broncolor?

Well, I guess that's not that long considering that demons live for a pretty damn long time. Was it hard to get him locked up in that dungeon of yours?
