My entry for #metroid-club 's latest contest: the Luminoth and the Chozo.It's actually a redo of an old, old drawing I did that I liked the idea of but not the execution. So I finally said to myself "Hey! Dawne! You're a bloody graduate! Get off your ass and work on some stuff! You have time!" And then I said "Hey! Duske! You have some damn good ideas! Why didn't I think of that?!" And I did.

When I saw this work, I immediately thought of tribal paintings on the wall of caves, made by ancient ppl, already extinct thousands of years ago!

Now replace those tribal people with ancient bird people! And the paintings are made of gossamer glowing ink transcribed on the walls!

Well now, this is something I can't believe I hadn't seen yet...this looks like it could actually be from a game. Namely if Nintendo ever remade Metroid II.

Aw man, a remake of Metroid II would be all kinds of awesome. It deeply deserves it. Hardly anyone even knows Metroid II existed, and that's sad. :<

Wasn't the original one of those black and white silhouette sort of pictures? If I'm thinking of the right one, it was pretty cool-- though of course it's always fun to see re-dos! I like the colour scheme used and how it looks more mechanical and slightly 3D-ish-- perhaps like a hologram.

No, it's a Chozo. 
I made it with a program called Alchemy. [link] It's a free program that's used more for quick sketching than it is for finished products. Because of that, there's no undo option. Ever stroke you make is final. It has some interesting things though. For example if you have a microphone you can set it so the line moves to your voice or music. There's a mirror option too, that I used for this. Try the program out, it's fun. C:
