he (or it seems more likely "she") are wild, at least as wild as you can consider birds that have adapted to living alongside human populations.

ukko was saved and kept alive by us till they could fly and rejoin their family. so we're the only 2 humans they trust and will come to.

so ukko comes by and visits their 2 monkey friends (sometimes arriving with other members of their family) on a regular basis.
