Here Spider-Man has the Hot Rod to Rodimus Prime transformation, becoming the Cosmic Powered Spider-Man from Acts of Vengeance.

Originally the idea was somehow Captain America's shield would trigger the transformation. With the popularity of the Infinity Gauntlet, The Optimus Prime fill-in eventually changed from Cap into Adam Warlock and the Star-Spangled Shield into the Infinity Gems.

One idea that remained a constant was that Doctor Doom would be the stand-in for Megatron. Upon his defeat Unicron transforms Megatron into Galvatron. In this conceptualization Doom is transformed into Kang The Conqueror into a herald of Galactus.

Thus, Cosmic Spider-Man is defeating Kang in the bowels of Galactus himself in this conceptual art.
