Thanks! I like shallow depth-of-field very much, too. Although on this one i would've liked to have the whole wings on the focalplane (bit blurry on the top), but i couldn't see that in the viewfinder back then and didn't have a cam with liveview.

This is a great photograph, the little butterfly seems to be off balance, which kinda says something... as though it's hanging on for dear life

Thanks! Unfortunately i didn't get it to sit on the focal-plane entirely, so the top left of the wing is a bit blurred.
Yeah, I'm a short dof-addicted, too, as it really decrowds shots and drives your attention to the subject.

Thank you! Unfortunately much of the original detail gets lost, when resizing the image. I'm pretty happy I also ordered a 30x20 print of this as a birthday present for this. When shooting this I could really get myself lost in the detail of this little fellas wings.

Yeah but detail loss is understandable on deviantART because of resizing so you just always take that into account anyway

Tsehe, the dA-Printservice also is a bit expensive after all. I got my 30x20 for 0,59€ and that in a pretty reasonable quality. Also when you don't have a subscribers account, you're only paid by paypal (not that I'd hope to get paid anyway) and I'm never going to use paypal after hearing all those horror-stories about frozen accounts and thousands of dollars disappearing.
Briefly, I'm not going to follow through with my threats of offering prints.
