Description 'In this civilization,' he continued, 'its citizens were bound to acts of utmost savagery. Vast cities were constructed beneath the world's surface. Each chamber, every building, assembled as the physical expression of the quality of absence. Solid rock matched by empty space. From these places, where they did not dwell, but simply gathered, they set out to achieve balance.'
[Steven Erikson - Midnight Tides]

My second try to draw a Forkrul Assail from the books of Steven Erikson. It's not that I don't like my first try anymore [which can be found here [link] ], but in the newest installment of the series, Dust of Dreams, he finally made clear what the 'multi-jointed' limbs look like, so of course I had to do a second version

Hope some people like it

Watercolour on watercolour paper, A4.

As usual, the scanner killed some of the colours, especially the bright green doesn't seem to be my scanner's favourite colour. Also, there are smudges where they shouldn't be
Anyway, I also tried something different this time: no black paint. Well, there is some, but only for the nails and eyes, otherwise I worked with complemetary colours for shadowing. Worked really nice

Thank you

I'm still debating with myself, but it's probably the book I'd take with me on a lone island if I could take just one

Actually, it's a series of books, also the one I took the quote from CAN be read as a stand alone and is - in my opinion - one of the best in the series. The whole series is called 'Malazan Books of the Fallen'. I surely recommend it
