Sorry that I my Mario sprites look like garbage; I think it's clear who I've sprited more
The animation is based on a theoretical moveset I thought up for Emerl as a Super Smash Brothers character(I'm still going to push for Knuckles to be smash DLC; but that's only because people outside of the Sonic fanbase actually recognize Knuckles). I made kind of a weird choice for the throw animation (partially inspired by Shadow and partially inspired by Mewtwo), and I'm not really sure what I think of it.
I feel that Emerl would work like Kirby, in the sense that he copies character abilities; but he'd do this through grabbing an opponent rather than vacuuming them. I feel like Emerl, besides the copy ability, would either play like Sonic or have a mish-mash of character moves (which would be something really interesting).

Emerl's colors look a lot like my main character Spark. The idea you have for Emerl in Smash is quite awesome!

Sorry to shout, but you really don't give yourself enough credit, pixel art is not only difficult its a relatively rare style to find things in.
Nice Animation though, I really could never make one similar.

I just know that it could be better, and that's my typical hang-up. I'm very hard on my work when I see a problem with it in an effort to discourage mistakes and imperfections in the future. I know I can't ever be "perfect"; but if I don't take harsh notes of my mistakes, improvement proves nearly impossible for me and I want to be the best I can be. And the mistake I see here is simple as "Mario looks bad" so I have to take note of that and give my apologies to people who aren't pleased with it to same degree I am. I can pretty much guarantee there'll be some degree in improvement in the future now that I have seen an error and people can out-voice any other issues before my next project.

No worries I myself find my work riddled with flaws, and like you I choose not to ignore them because my one goal is too improve. Just don't go too hard on yourself, you have alot more talent than you may realize.

I just used MS paint, started with a circle roughly the size of the standard Sonic Battle character head (2px circle tool), shaped in the muzzle (smallest brush), drew the eyes (same brush), added spikes (2px brush), drew in the ears (2px brush), did the coloring and shading (I don't think I can actually explain that process), and then went added the hands (I think I had some unused hands from other work I had off to the side), and then outlined the body in accordance to were the hands and head were. From there I added color and shading to the rest of the uncolored areas; and that's the best I can explain it.

Why not push for tails for smash bros. dlc , he's sonic best friend and i think he has a high chance of getting in smash bros. cause of this.

Tails was a passing thought; but he's not the character known as a fighter, like Knux. I mean, I've seen Tails work as a fighter; but I just don't think he should have priority over Knuckles (or even Metal Sonic; but that's a whole other issue) in a fighting game. Racing games and platformers are a different story, but I feel like the punch-crazy echidna takes priority in the "fighter" genre.
Knuckles is just "rougher than the rest of them".

I didn't think about that lol, i was just think about the fact that tails has been in almost every sonic game compared to knuckles and it would make more sense, but knuckles does seem more fit for smash. I think its a 50/50 situation there
