Description
Muller is a prominent member of Scythe Gang, a clan of monsters headed by Xylem and known to travel the universe looking for recruits, treasure, tech, or all three. Though Muller prefers to remain out of public view, he plays an incredibly important part in the clan, managing its available technology, gathering information, and working connivingly from the shadows to ensure Scythe Clan's goals progress as smoothly as possible. He is the clan hacker and analyst rolled into one, and there isn't a single new item or treasure held by Scythe Gang that he isn't aware of.

Muller was originally a flesh and blood being with a talent for the digital world but not much else. Though he craved social contact he was largely unaware of this, and spent most of his reclusive days cracking websites, hacking accounts, and perpetrating general online mayhem. Eventually he was tracked down by a criminal syndicate, abducted, tortured, and promptly killed. However, in death his spirit became restless: paranoia, entitlement, regret, and the knowledge of finally knowing exactly what it was he craved assembled itself into a unique etheric spirit (uniqueness being a rather common trait when discussing ghosts, specters, phantasms, and other undead heavily influenced by the soul). Muller was now different, but all the same. He wanted to hack. He wanted to be useful. He wanted to be accepted. But never again would he be the ringleader. Never again would he dare to stand unprotected by himself.

When Scythe Gang came to his area, they had altercations with the same deadly syndicate, and promptly came out on top. Here Muller saw an opportunity to join part of something larger, to satisfy his cravings while remaining protected. Muller was readily accepted by Scythe Gang and quickly rose to a position between secretary, treasurer, and second in command, yet with much less direct authority. Though his skills are useful and his intelligence higher than Xylem, he prefers to remain firmly outside the spotlight, and the two have a complete and mutual respect for their standings. As long as Xylem continues to be the undisputed leader, Muller can be his protected right hand man, working behind the curtain. As long as Muller is his right hand man, Xylem can continue to be the undisputed leader. Both are exactly where they would like to be and heavily benefit from the presence of the other.

Wherever Xylem may place his throne room, Muller is often found in a smaller, hidden adjacent room, which he freely decorates. Rumors abound that Muller has secret affections for Xylem (which would admittedly explain a lot of things), but these are unfounded and likely not reciprocated.
