Description
Part of a discord server discussion with a friend. The Blights are psuedo-supernatural beings that each injure a certain part of the body, and are rivals of "The Miasma", creatures that spread infection and illness. While the Miasma have a slightly whimsical, element, the Blight are nothing but gruesome. The part they affect mirrors the organs they lack.

Gutlug- An eternally hungry being incapable of eating and forever trapped in its own stomach. Constantly produces clogging bile which it must continuously expel in order to breathe. Inhaling, swallowing, or otherwise having prolonged contact with the liquids causes retching, digestive issues, and weakness. Significant quantities stop the body's ability to process food at all.

Slitsight- A blind, gaping creature. It maps out its environment with its mind. The eyes of other beings show up as very bright flashes of light in an otherwise dark world, an agitating intrusion that drives it to madness. Its long limbs deftly poke out ocular organs.

Blobfat- A boneless, floppy creature with extreme calcium deficiency. It grabs and sticks to others, siphoning the very calcium from their bones to replenish its own malnourished body.

Cripplecrawl- A very wrathful creature with hopelessly deformed back legs. It despises the functional lower bodies of others and will use its well muscled arms to break legs, or the pelvis itself.

Flapflesh- This entity's failed respiratory system constantly spasms, struggling to breathe but never managing it. Only its fleshy hands are able to extract carbon dioxide over the air, and the creature will attempt to clamp them over the mouth and nose of anything it can. Unfortunately the chemicals on its palms cause chronic lung spasms, and prolonged contact can lead to permanent damage.

Scalpthresh- A fetal-faced creature operating entirely on instinct. It has no hair of its own and is mindlessly possessed by a drive to remove all hair from another organism it encounters, one at a time. The procedure is not deadly, but slow and often very painful.

Tubecrack- Arguably the most dangerous. This loping, misshapen, downright evil entity emits countless cracks and creaks as it meticulously breaks every minor joint in a victims body. In some cases it may snap a victims neck seemingly out of spite.

Heapmesh- A contender with Tubecrack and the only truly psionic member of the Blight. Heapmesh emits mental pulses that react to and atrophy muscle fibers, resulting in involuntary twitches, weakness, and eventually death with prolonged exposure. Heapmesh moves slowly on its misshapen body, but has a far telepathic range.
