Description
It had only taken a simple phone call to lure Wonder Woman to the secluded back street. Six words, from a friend. "I know what happened to Zatanna" Power Girl had said, and that was enough. It was, of course, a trap.

Now Wonder Woman also knew what fate had befallen the dark haired mistress of magic. It was the same fate that had befallen Power Girl. the same fate her former friends had planned for her. To become the newest super slave of the alien villain Starro. It was a fate Diana would not accept easily she was Wonder Woman and she would not go down without a fight.

At first the Amazonian Princess had fought to free her friend from Starro's influence but that had proved futile. Unwilling to hurt Kara, Wonder Woman had hampered her own ability to fight effectively and the mind controlled Kryptonian had closed swiftly to grapple with the amazonian beauty.

But whereas Kara drew energy constantly from the sun, the struggle had begun to drain even Diana's vast reservoir of stamina. Now, hours later, Diana no longer battled to save Kara, she battled to save herself, to get away, but it was too late.

Exhausted, helpless in the unyielding grip of Power Girl, Wonder Woman was reduced to words as Zatanna approached, a Starro spawn held in the magician's outstretched hand.

"Zee, Kara listen to me...it's me...Diana! We're friends, fight him Zee...fight him!!!"

If Zatanna paused at all, it was imperceptible. Diana renewed her struggles with desperate ferocity as the dark haired magician continued her silent implacable approach, but Power Girl's hold was applied with a single minded purpose not her own and there was no escaping it! The wet, glistening sucker filled skin of Starro grew larger in the trapped Amazon's vision until it blanked out everything else...
