Description Well, here it is! The Achto Teralith Helmet is finally painted! Made from a plate of 22 gauge steel, this helmet cost about $33.00 to make, all said and done.

Here's the progress since the last picture...

After adding a yellow layer of paint to the helmet on top of the textured base layer, I began hand-painting the helmet with this brownish-orange acrylic paint. It dries fast, it's flat, and it shows the texture of the paint below it rather well. I miiiiight change the color later to be a tad lighter, but I think it looks good for now.

In order to be able to see out of this thing (and prevent people seeing in / get the right color) I had to add a layer of black mesh to the eyes. This was done by taking an old screen door mesh replacement kit (about $5.00) and cutting small pieces off of it to fit the gaps. I then used hot glue to bind them to the interior of the helmet, and they hold remarkably well. The mesh you see here, is part of the ONLY roll I have ever purchased, and I've been using pieces off of it since the Dragon armor. I have only just barely made a dent in the roll at this point, so it should last me for many years to come. In order to make the eyes blue, but still see out of them, I opted to paint the outside of the mesh with blue acrylic paint. I couldn't use spray paint for this, so I hand brushed it, being very careful not to cover any of the holes in it as I worked. My vision in this thing is VERY limited, but I can clearly see what is directly in front of me.

Still a  tiny bit of detail paint to be added to the yellow side-plates, but that will probably be done later. I need to get working on the body now.

PS, I'll be posting a picture of the helmet from the other angles not visible here, as soon as I get them compiled into one image.
