Description Recently, I received a commission to build a Dragon Scimitar, from RuneScape. This is the result.

Since I'm currently not able to work with steel, I've had to resort to using plywood. \(°~°)/
This sword, is made from 3/4 in plywood. It has been painted to look like the item in the game, and has had the edges beveled for an accurate look. The sword measures about 2 feet in length, and 4.5 in at it's widest point.

This sword is finally finished! (New picture, yay! )

I LOVE THIS!! To answer berntsunde's metallic paint question, Rust-Oleum brand spray paints are wonderful. You can also use any type of car paint or Rub-n-Buff to preserve the metallic sheen. I just prefer spray paint since the coating stays even.
Happy crafting!!!

if, or when, you do this one in steel, how you get it red? you paint the metal then or? sorry if it is a stupid question, but honestly i don't know

Thanks

Yes I would like to eventually make this in metal, but I would probably just paint the blade. Some colors (like blue, purple, etc.) can be given to a blade by carefully heating it until that color shows. However, I'm not sure if you can do this with red. And... paint would be easier, haha.

ok thanks for answering ^^ well i guess you can get a metallic kind of paint, so it doesnt cover the metal, if you know what i mean, that you can see it is metal?
Some kind of transparent thingy? Instead of thick red paint I mean, so the metal looks like red metal can't wait to see you do a charged DFS

That would be quite a challenge... I might do a Bandos Warshield
It's a little simpler, and I have already though about how I would do it.

You could - in the future - work with plaster.  Then, once you have fine definition to the object, you could make moulds and cast them in ridged foam rubber.    More to sell, and you could hit people with them!

The grip is made from a strip of cotton cloth about 2 ft long. So, it's pretty comfortable to hold.
