This semi-star is slightly larger than Jupiter but has a little more than 60 times its mass.
Here in the sky of this imaginary barren planetary companion, it appears over 10 times as large as the Sun seen from Earth.
Due to chemical components in the gas shell of the brown dwarf, the visible light appears magenta.
The orange dot to the right of the image center is Gliese 229 A, the system's main star, a red dwarf about 30 astronomical units away.
