Description
First drawing on dA! Hope you enjoy!The lord of darkness in the upcoming Devoid series, Zion! This guy is feared by many with countless myths surrounding him. However, he’s much more reasonable than he seems. Those who die must have their souls pass through his judgement before they are to reincarnate, move to the heavenly Etherum, or stay condemned to the hellish Maelstrom which he inhabits. Although Zion possesses a law-abiding/neutral mentality, he refuses to form attachments to others, making him appear distant, cold, and even remorseless at times.

Update: This is super old yet my first feel for SAI. I'm looking forward to making a redraw of this.

well.
the 1st thing i noticed about this; is the colour. you used nightmarish colours; also known as halloweeny colours. neon green and blacks. i'm not to sure what i think of its hands and the...tentacles for hair thing.
but i really do love this; you blended the colours well and it looks scary; like a monster from a movie. i would recommend maybe experimenting with the face, because to me it looks a little flat. but now i'm just nick picking.
the mist on the floor was a nice touch, it gives it a nice; as i said nightmarish effect. but i would like to see that used in other ways. maybe the mist can be coming from the side, or from the back, or maybe the monster itself. i would like to this this experimented on.

Thank you so much for your insight! Yes I did give this character nightmarish colors in order to fit his overall appearance. His hands are supposed to be quite insectoid, and those tentacles are meant to fit his "sea creature-like" build.
I'm glad you like the colors! I agree I could make his face look more 3D.
I guess I could play around with mist! I think that will be a great idea for my next ideas!
