Description
The next 3 pieces are what I consider sample inks. These are done on the side from my regular work, whenever there is a lull waiting on work to arrive. It's usually time set aside without being rushed to try my hand inking a piece for "fun"...usually over someone I've never had the opportunity to work over before and to give it my own style stamp. With that said, these are inked off of low res scans found online. Really REALLY low res. To the point where it's as much an inking embelishment job...rather than just a "trace" job. It makes things more interesting as I have to sort of organically ink/finish the piece since the low res scan isn't as clear as if working over a clean original. Uses the creative parts of the brain more than the monkey-tracing-ability parts of the brain
This is the first cover to the Ultimate Wolverine Vs. Hulk mini-series, as pencilled by Leinil Yu. The mini-series is coloring directly off the pencils...so no inker. And while it looks nice (Leinil pencils fairly tight), I'm a little biased to always want to see inked comics over uninked ones. And since I've never inked Leinil before...I thought this would be a fun piece to tackle. Plus it contains two of my favorite Marvel characters so that's always a plus.

Great inks man, I really like the style of Yu and I think that that kind of ink give the best of the artwork... I relly like the book too.

Yeah Yu's work has come a long way. I think he's really been hittin' on all cylinders since High Roads (probably even before that). Plus he's had all sorts of great inkers work over him in the past (Vines, Alanguilan, Friend).
And it's just great to see him on Wolverine and Hulk. Seems like a perfect fit.
Now if only they had an inker on the series...

Yeah, I love the artwork of Wolverine vs Hulk, maybe they should try a couple of pages or a cover on ink, and for the work I alredy look at your gallery itΒ΄s a good idea.
