Do oranges and Grape Jelly really attract these birds? I looked it up already but I'm a little skeptical...are there other ways to attract these birds besides oranges and jelly?

I only use grape jelly... never had much luck with oranges.

Beautiful pose! It is so hard to get them at the right angle.
I have so many pics I've not used because I don't like the capture. But I'm going broke feeding them I have so many, 12 last count playing in the pine near the feeder and 7 arguing over the feeder all at the same time. I go through a large jar of grape jelly every 3 to 4 days.

Oh yes they do! I noticed in the spring when they first get here they a slightly dull in color after about a week on the jelly they brighten right up. ? for you. Have you ever seen an Oriole eat from a suet feeder?

Wow, that sounds like a big process but well worth the effort if this is the result. Hopefully that coopers hawl will fly the coop so your little friends aren't scared anymore

They have to eat too. I've never seen him actually catch a bird.

Grape jelly! I put out the jelly for them all season, that way they
keep showing up on my deck all season. Then they bring the babies when they
are old enough to fly. I have perches I clamped, nailed etc to my deck rail
so they are close and get a little less camera shy as the season goes on.
Sometimes I'm waiting with the 400 at the ready, when then land on a perch
I'm ready focus and shoot when they give me the right head turn. Even at that I still throw out 8 out of 10 shots because I don't like the pose I captured, they don't just sit and pose, they are always on the look out for preditors,
I have seen a coopers hawk around lately so they better be wary.
