ok. i thought i'd give you guys a break from all the LOVEand submit something irreverent.
you up for it????
i mean,...i was thinking of ranting over valentine's day
and all this wearing red nonsense and how i've already come
close to sticking my pencil into my eyeball on a couple of
occasions already today over it and...
but i'm not.
you guys have a great (*fill in whatever day you like here*) day!
i'm gonna go steal some chocolate!

the inside scoop on this piece....
I was at work and it was an insanely slow day.. so I got out the trusty journal and began to write about what I was looking for in someone. And I kept glancing at the guy I was working with out of the corner of my eye (long story short, I like him, his girlfriend hates me - haha) and the last thing I wrote before a customer came in was "be able to watch the sunrise in silence" as in that's something I'd want to be able to to do with that person...

Oh oh, I was right, it is maxx-related. I saw the thumbnail and thought, "Hey that guy looks like the maxx," and sure enough! This is a great picture, I really like the detail and imagination and everything. It's been ages since I've delved into the world of the maxx, and it's great to go there again.

I was going to ask what you used but I noticed you answered that already in a previous comment. I think I prefer the white iszes, so how they're just cuter. I think it took them too long to make this a daily deviation.

Okay, I love this. To me, it either looks like some scared kid hiding behind a sign in front of his face that is telling the monsters to go suck somewhere else. It does look like sheets over a head. Otherwise, it's a little creature, maybe with the monsters, telling you for your own good to go suck somewhere else. It does look like there are two little eyes above what looks like teeth over the sign. Heh. Awesome.

Before I even read it was from The Maxx, I knew it just from the style in which you drew it. Its almost an exact replica of the artwork I was used to seeing when I was extrmely into this comic when I was younger. Great job.

I haven't seen much of Maxx for a long time. You have the comic style down very well (I'm about to go have a look at the rest of your gallery to see if that's what you do), and The way you've cropped the faces is particularly intense. The whats-it in the front is great, too, from pose to expression, definitely represents his little banner. It's very nice work!
